The Importance of Nursing Research
It is a systematic inquiry designed to develop knowledge about issues important to nurses, i.e. nursing education, practice, and administration.
Nurses are expected to adopt evidence-based practice using research findings to inform their decisions, actions, and interactions with patients.
Knowledge of nursing research enhances the professional practice of all nurses.
Incorporating high quality research evidence into clinical practice holds nurses professionally accountable to their patients and the community.
It validates best practice.
It reinforces the identity of nursing as a profession.
