WOW! What winter! I don’t know about all of you, but I know I am sick of this snow! I am so looking forward toSpring. With all this snow the Shrine was busy.(No not shoveling snow!). We had a great installation party, where I knoweveryone had a great time. I wanted to thank Sandie Katz for the wonderful lighthouse cake she made for us, boy was it good.I wanted to thank all the Nobles and Past Potentates who came out to our special business meeting, it was very productive andthere were a lot of great ideas that came about, it shows that we do spread the cement of brotherly love, and we really learnedthat we can work together to get things done. We had a super Introduction of Officers ball, I would be remiss if I did not thankGeorge and Betty Wolfe and Tony Maxwell for insuring everything went well for outstanding event, even in poor weather, youcame out and the was a great turnout.
We have a lot planned for you all in the next few months. Brotherhood night is on the 14th of March, I hope we havea good turn-out, showing our fez’s, what a great recruiting opportunity we will have, for masons to see us. Remember, if we get30 new members this year, all first line signers their wives, and the new Nobles and their wives will be treated to a steak dinner.Nobles, I am urging each and every one of you to get out to your blue lodges and try to get some petitions signed, so everyonecan see that we are a fez-tastic organization to belong to. We also have the world’s greatest philanthropy, Shriner’s Hospital ForChildren. We are holding a Ladies Tea on March 29th, to honor our past potentates ladies, members of the Divan will be servingour ladies in Tuxedos. We are holding our annual Easter Egg Hunt on April 13th at 11:00 am , please call the office and tellHelga how many people are attending(how many kids). So we can make sure that there are enough gifts and food for all. OurPhotographer and his lady will be there to provide pictures with the Easter Bunny (Thanks Ron!)
Mark has planned happy hour on March 21st, at 5:00pm this is a great time to just sit back and wash the week away.Try to bring non-shriners as well, who knows they just might have a good time! The Imperial Session in Minnesota is July 6th thru the 10th. The cut off time is the end of March to get your reservations in,for we need to turn the rooms back. It is always a great time. We will be sharing the festivities with Almas Shrine. Please callthe office or Sam Katz set your reservation.
Both Mindy and myself wish you all a wonderful and refreshing Spring, and we look forward to seeing everyone comeout to the Shrine!

I Love Shrinedom!
My Fellow Shriners: Unfortunately, summer is coming to an end and soon the dark days of winter will be approaching. But before we face the cold temperatures we have lots of fun filled activities remaining with our fantastic organization, Nur Shrine. Recently, I was asked by the newly elected Imperial Po-tentate Chris L. Smith, to accept one of the positions as an aide to the Imperial Outer Guard for the coming year. I was hon-ored and accepted this assignment with enthusiasm. Included in my speech at the Potentate’s Ball, are some observations I made about our great fraternity. In case you were unable to at-tend, I include them below. Spoken from my heart, I hope you agree with my sentiment. I love Shrinedom. I love Nur Shrine. Nur shrine strives to promote friendship, justice, learning, and also strives to inspire a lifelong commitment. We attempt to serve well, our families, friends and the communities in which we live and work. We actively create programs and events that exemplify the values of our fraternity, in the surrounding ar-eas of Wilmington, the state of Delaware, and nearby locales in Maryland, Pennsylvania, and New Jersey. Nur Shrine mem-bers accept personal responsibilities and voluntarily contrib-ute their time, talents, and yes, resources to help build a better society. There is not a single noble who has not, in some way, contributed to make Nur strong, and growing stronger. 2 By participating in a philanthropic service, the support of Shrin-ers Hospitals for Children, we not only live the values of our fraternity, but we, in many small ways, benefit those children who are less fortunate and in need of medical attention.
As I am sure you’ve noticed, Nur Shriners are men with diverse temperaments, a range of talents, and varied convic-tions. Nevertheless, we share a common belief in the funda-mental purpose of our Shrine. Our social gatherings allow us
to celebrate brotherhood, and the bonds of being kindred spirits. Our activities and events should and must be scruti-nized carefully, to accurately reflect the ideals which bind us together. A Nur Shriner exhibits the desirable character quali-ties of integrity, sound judgement and loyalty. He demonstrates courteous behavior toward others, which reflects positively on himself and on our fraternity. I am very pleased to report that our family events have grown in both number and participa-tion over the last year, due to the creativity and participation of many. These multigenerational gatherings not only bring us closer together, but they help build important familiarity for the future members of Nur Shrine. Many of us are continuing our Shrine traditions as a result of our fathers and grandfa-thers. Likewise, we hope to continue that tradition with our sons and grandsons. 3 I truly believe in these descriptive words about who we are as Nur Shriners. I am humbled and thankful to be your potentate this year. I will do my best to reward your faith in me, for the remainder of 2016. May the sands of the desert fill our oasis with happiness and fraternal brotherhood.
Yours in faith,
George Wolfe, Potentate
