Approach to Breakthrough Global Growth

› Focus on 24/7 quality service and spares for existing Clients

› Exploit niche power markets with reliable, flexible and scalable generation solutions

› Command the spent fuel reuse market

› Delivery of a dependable mid-life refurbished low cost/low carbon CANDU platform

› Provide owners with turnkey lifecycle decommissioning solutions from research reactors to 1GWe+ class reactors

› Provide cost effective and innovative plant management options for the orphaned, pilot, demonstration and FOAK reactor owner/operator

UK New Build

4

› Hinkley Point C UK-EPR (3.2GWe) from integrated vendor/operator EDF Energy, based out of Bristol

› Horizon with Wylfa Newydd Hitachi ABWR (2.7GWe) and option on Oldbury site expansion, based out of Gloucester

› NuGeneration AP1000 (3.8GWe) development at Moorside next to Sellafield, based out of Manchester

› Follow-on sites available at Sizewell, Bradwell, Hartlepool and Heysham, a further 20GWe nuclear is required to replace ageing Advanced Gas-cooled Reactors

› Generic Design Assessment underway for ABWR and completion of halted AP1000 process

› Skill shortage for construction once financing resolved

UK Decommissioning & Waste Management (D&WM) Market

› $4Bn annual decommissioning spend underway:• Research reactors• Sodium fast breeder reactors• First generation gas cooled reactors• Legacy reprocessing facilities and waste stockpiles

› Program and procurement managed by equivalent of Crown Corporations:• Nuclear Decommissioning Authority• Magnox Ltd.• Sellafield Ltd.

› Large deferred dismantling backlog of 19 gas reactors soon in safe store type regime – problem looking for a solution

› Separated plutonium & recovered uranium stockpile an opportunity with a “made in Canada” CANMOX™ or CANDU® solution

US New Build

› New build market active for first time since 1990s

› Watts Bar 2 to begin commercial operation shortly

› Units currently under construction• AP1000: Vogtle 3&4 (Georgia)• AP1000: V.C Summer 2&3 (S. Carolina)

› Units with Combined Construction & Operating License• ABWR: South Texas Project 3&4 (Texas)• ESBWR: Fermi 3 (Michigan)

› Prospects with COL under review by NRC• AP1000: Levy County 1&2 (Florida)• AP1000: Turkey Point 6&7 (Florida)• AP1000: William States Lee III 1&2 (S. Carolina)• ESBWR: North Anna 3 (Virginia)

US Small Modular Reactor

› Characterized as less than 300MWe, small/compact, can be transported by truck or rail

› Challenged by economics in deregulated markets

› Many designs exist today, both novel and proven (legacy)

› US DOE supporting SMR funding:• NuScale (Design Certification projected to be submitted to NRC

late 2016, with reactor module final design complete by 2019) • mPower (Siting & Design – Design Certification granted but on

hold)• Range of technology demonstration projects

› Early Site Permit granted to TVA for Clinch River Site – SMR is bounded within definition

US Process Heat

› Low carbon, high temperature industrial applications for: • Desalination

250C• Oil/Bitumen extraction, upgrading & refining• Jet fuel/Ethanol production• Water splitting 950C

› Generation IV targets temperatures above 700C

› R&D being funded through DOE and through the Gen IV International Forum (GIF)• Gas-cooled Fast Reactor (GFR)• Lead-cooled Fast Reactor (LFR)• Molten Salt Reactor (MSR)• Supercritical Water-cooled Reactor (SCWR)• Sodium-cooled Fast Reactor (SFR)• Very High Temperature Reactor (VHTR)

US O&M Services

› Large market of 65 PWR and 34 BWRs with 5 reactors under construction, spares & services always needed

› Utilities in deregulated markets looking for comprehensive cost reduction solutions in response to downward pressure on power prices, innovation is required

› O&M Services market contracting leading to consolidation and falling rates, demographic shift means large experienced contracting capacity local to most plants

› Exchange rate an advantage but not a compelling one

› D&WM market driven by utility financial position, another area that is open to innovative solutions
