Valley Rovers Senior Footballers played there last League game last Thursday night against Nemo Rangers in Brinny. Valleys came away with the win & now sit at the top of the league table with all their games played. Full Time score: Valley Rovers 1-12 to Nemo Rangers 1-9. Minor P2 Hurling League Valleys P2 minor hurlers welcomed Bride Rovers to Brinny recently. This was a tough outing against a very good Bride Rovers side. Valleys started brightly with two points from Cathal O’Sullivan.
Bride Rovers began to score some excellent long
range scores from play and led at half time 1-11 to 0-
8. Valleys other scores coming from Mark O’Leary
and Conor Taheny.
Bride Rovers continued where they left off in the first
half with some long range points. Valleys kept going
with points from Brian Hoey, Darragh O’Shea and
Adam Kenneally but they couldn’t peg back a very
strong Bride Rovers team who won on a score line of
3-24 to 0-16.

Valleys P2 minor hurlers travelled to Watergrasshill
last Wednesday for their last league game prior to
championship.
Valleys started brightly with two points from Cathal
O’Sullivan, Mark O’Leary, Adam Kenneally and Ronan
O’Connell and goals from Conor Taheny and Brian
Hoey had valleys leading at half time 4-8 to 0-7.
Valleys picked up where they left off in the first half
with goals from Conor Taheny, Cathal O’Sullivan and
Darragh O’Shea and with points from Brian Hoey,
Mark O’Leary and Conor Taheny, they ran out
comfortable winners on a scoreline of Valley Rovers
7-13 to Watergrasshill’s 3-14.

Valleys C3 hurlers travelled to Inniscarra last Friday.
Valleys started slowly and were down 0-5 to 0-1 after 15
minutes. Following a goal from Ronan Hoey and points
from Denny Kiely, Aaron O’Leary and Jack Hourihane
valleys trailed at half time 0-10 to 1-5.
Valleys upped their game in the second half with goals
from Misko Savic, Daniel Lynch and Cathal Cronin, & with
points from Jack Hourihane, Brian McCarthy, Denny Kiely
and Mike Connolly, they ran out winners on a final
scoreline of Valley rovers 4-11 to Inniscarra 1-13.

FE15 P2 Hurling League
Valley Rovers under 15s played Bride Rovers in a
league hurling match last Wednesday evening in
Brinny. Valley Rovers started well and continued to
dominate all over the field for most of the first half
with the half time score being Valley Rovers 4-4 to
Bride Rovers 1-6.
In the second half Bride Rovers had their purple patch
and at one time there was only 3 points between the
sides, however, Valleys fought back with everyone
working tirelessly all over the field and had a
convincing win over a competitive opponent. The
final score was Valley rovers 5-15 to Bride rovers 2-
14.

Well done to Valley Rovers juvenile players that were
involved in the Cork Munster U14, U15 and U16 squads
on Saturday last.
U14 Cork Mid West: Jason Kelleher and John Neary –
This team played in Dungarvan last Saturday against
Tipperary & Limerick.
U15 Cork West: Ciaran McCarthy, Ben Humphries &
Jacob O’Driscoll – Part of the squad that won the
Humphrey Kelleher Cup Final, beating Kerry North on a
scoreline of Cork West 3-08 to Kerry North 0-08.
U16: Adam Walsh-Murphy - Cork were victorious in the
Munster tournament cup, beating Limerick and Kerry in
the group and Tipperary in the final on a scoreline of 3-
11 to 2-06.

Best wishes to the Junior B team who start their
championship campaign on this Thursday night when
they take on near neighbours’ Kinsale in the first round
of the championship. This also is a round robin series,
with Valleys facing Knocknagree on the 19th July also.
The U7/8 Valley rovers Ladies footballers played
Bandon in a challenge game last week in the Bleach.
Two teams of 7 aside fielded & played very well. Well
done young ladies!

Senior Summer League
Valley Rovers hosted Ballincollig in the summer league
last Tuesday night in Brinny. After an evenly matched
first quarter Ballincollig started to pull away in the
second quarter & led 0.8 points to 0.3 at half time.
The Rovers came out stronger in the second half &
brought the score back to 0.10 points to 0.9, before
Ballincollig got a fortunate goal & held out to finish on
a fulltime score of Valley Rovers 0.10. to Ballincollig 1-
12.
Valleys will play Fr O’Neills in this league next Monday
in preparation for their senior championship debut
which they will make on July 23rd next when they face
Killeagh in Castle Road.

U17 Munster Summer 7’s Series
Valley Rovers have this year entered a team in the U17
Munster Summer 7’s series, with the first blitz held on
Saturday the 7th July in Clonea Power Gaa, Carrick on
Suir, Waterford.
The following girls represented the club; Sarah Lynch,
Kim Muckian, Ellen Fehily, Cliona Reardan, Molly Lynch,
Kate Lynch and Orla O’Sullivan. The team played 2
matches, each match 10 minutes aside and they won
both matches. The first match was against St Cronans,
Tipperary on a scoreline of 4:4 to 3:2 and the second
match was against St Anne’s of Waterford on a
scoreline of 3:4 to 3:2.
Playing 7 aside was hard in the hot weather but the
girls adjusted very well to the game & There is a final
blitz in Kilmallock on 22 July which the girls hope to
attend.
Congratulations to Chris O’Leary who picked up a
Munster U21 Championship medal last Wednesday
night when Cork defeated Tipperary in the Munster
Final on a scoreline of Cork 2-23 to Tipperary 1-13.
This was the first Munster cup win for Cork since 2007
& it being Chris’s third year playing at this grade, we
are sure it was just reward for his efforts over this time.

Valley Rovers History
Valley Rovers are in the process of gathering information with
the view of recording the History of Gaelic games in the
parish in a book. This project is covering all aspects of Gaelic
games, be it Hurling Football, Camogie and Ladies Football.
If you have any memorabilia, pictures, old medals, old minute
books in your procession, old AGM reports etc or equally
important, any historical information we would greatly
appreciate if you would share it with us.
We have set up an email address
that you can email any items.
Also we will be in Innishannon Hall on
Re-fixed Date to be Confirmed
For people to come and bring any interesting items which we
can scan & photograph so you can take your items home
again.
All information is welcome and we will endeavor to include as
many items as possible.

Collection of kids gear for Valley Rovers Cul Camp will take place on Sunday July 15th in Brinny from 10.30am to 12.30 pm and again in the evening from 6.30 pm to 7.30pm.
Also those who have not yet filled out forms may do so on that evening, and those who still wish to register are more than welcome.
