• Venues are selected and facilities are run by the host district. A Facilities Coordinator is on site at each RLI venue.

• Programs, Materials and Faculty are supplied by the Zone 33Rotary Leadership Institute.

• Lunch is provided for Attendees unless otherwise noted; alter-nate meals may be provided on request for Attendees with special dietary needs.

• Facilities are American Disabilities Act (ADA) compliant. RLI will make reasonable accommodation for persons with disabilities. Please note any special needs with registration.

Through thededicated efforts of our officers, executivecommittee and faculty, the Rotarians of ourmember districts have a unique opportunityfor quality Rotary education. ZONE 33 ROTARY LEADERSHIP INSTITUTE

What are the courses?

The Institute offers a leadership course in three full-day parts(Parts I, II, III). Those completing each part are eligible for thenext part. The courses are designed to provide Rotary knowl-edge and to develop leadership skills for voluntary organiza-tions.

When and where are the courses held?

Courses are held at convenient locations within the RLI servicearea. Any nominee may take a course in any location. Coursesare listed in this brochure and on the RLI website. Online regis-tration is under construction.

What are the teaching methods?

The Institute believes in course sessions with as much discus-sion/participation as possible. Discussion breakout sessions arelimited to approximately 10-15 persons. Lectures are strictlylimited. A course workbook or CD containing an InstituteManual, session program agendas, faculty listings and courseoutlines and materials, is provided to each attendee.

Who are the faculty?

The faculty members are selected by the Institute for theirteaching abilities. They are drawn from all areas of the memberdistricts and occasionally from outside the member districts.Many are present and past district governors, experienced dis-trict leaders, or successful past presidents and those with expe-rience in special areas.

Who should be nominated to attend the Institute courses?

The Institute recommends that clubs nominate those Rotarianswho appear to have the potential for club leadership, not neces-sarily as future presidents. They should preferably be at least 3-4 years away from a possible presidency or other key leader-ship post. Candidates should certainly have a strong interest inRotary and be ready to be exposed to the larger world ofRotary. The Institute requests each club to nominate one or twoRotarians each year and to support previous nominees in com-pleting Parts II and III.

What are the costs?

The current course fees are $85 per registrant per day. The feescover breakfast (some locations), lunch, coffee breaks and considerable materials given to participants. Course fees alsopay for meeting space, audiovisual equipment and promotionalcosts. The Institute strongly recommends that clubs pay thefees for their participants.

Should our club participate?

If your club cares about its future, it will want the best leader-ship possible. This is an outstanding opportunity for each clubto improve the Rotary knowledge of its key people, who willalso be exposed to new ideas of leadership.

What is the Zone 33 Division?

The Zone 33 The Rotary Leadership Institute includes thestates of (from north to south) West Virginia, Virginia, NorthCarolina, the tip of eastern Tennessee and South Carolina. Itincludes the 13 districts of Zone 33 in the southeastern UnitedStates. The original or Home Division of RLI consists of Zones31 and 32 in the Northeast United States. RLI is now formingadditional Divisions around the world and each Division is listed on the RLI website.
