The Department of Civil Engineering,

offers B.Tech Degree course in Civil

Engineering. The Department has been

excelling in its activities since its

inception. The departmental activities

embrace planning, design, construction

and management. A team of dedicated

faculty and supporting staff carry out

these activities. Apart from academic

program and Research & Consultancy

activities, the Department has been

taking lead roles in organizing technical

seminars, workshops, training programs

as well as computer related courses for

teachers and field professionals from all

over the country. The Department has

the privilege of producing many rank

holders in the University examinations.

The students of the Department actively

take part in curricular, co-curricular and

extra-curricular activities.

The Department of Mechanical

Engineering, has a support of highly

qualified and specialized faculty. since

its inception in 1960, it has become a

synonym for brilliance. High quality

teaching and tracking students on an

individual basis to correct performance

aberrations are the benchmarks of the

department. No wonder, students get

excellent placements in leading

infrastructural companies later on. The

department is also one of the leading

ones in both curricular and extra

curricular activities also. The National

Board of Accreditation AICTE has

given a national Level recognition by

accrediting the Department with Grade

B. The Mechanical Department is one

of the most sought after branches in

the State.


The Department of Electrical & Electronics

Engineering is started in the year 1960. The

department has established itself as one of

the best and prestigious departments of

NSS College of Engineering. The

department has well experienced and

committed faculty having specialization in

different areas in Electrical and Electronics

Engineering. The faculty always work

towards development and progress of the

department by upgrading and modernizing

the laboratory facilities, organizing

Seminars and conferences. The National

Board of Accreditation AICTE has given a

national Level recognition by accrediting the

Department with Grade B. The department

has number of well equipped laboratories

and provides excellent facilities for learning,

research and development and consultancy

works. Department periodically organizes

seminars, conferences, workshops,

industrial visits and guest lectures are for

the benefit of both the students and the

faculty.

The Department of Instrumentation &

Control Engineering the only one of its

kind in Kerala was established in 1980.

The Department offers a full time B Tech

Degree course in Instrumentation &

Control Engineering. The National Board

of Accreditation AICTE has given a

national Level recognition by accrediting

the Department with Grade B. Though

small in number, the Faculty and

students of the Department work with

dedication to keep in pace with the ever

changing Control and Instrumentation

scenario. The Department has it s own

brand value providing the best faculties

in the stream and with the most modern

and well equipped lab facilities, many of

which are even not available in the IITs.

The Electronics & Communication Engi-

neering Department has been backed up

by efficient, dedicated and specialized

faculty who have helped the department

to produce outstanding Engineers. The

faculty has an excellent resource profile

helping them to have a very good

classroom performance. This leads to

creation of rank holders almost every

year. The emphasis on practical

knowledge along with theory, and

computer awareness has helped the

acquirement of placements of the

students in leading industries. The

project taken up by the students involve

high doses of embedded system

development. The National Board of

Accreditation AICTE has given a

national Level recognition by accrediting

the Department with Grade B. The

Department also offers M tech program

in Communication Engineering.

The Department of Computer Science

& Engineering is the latest addition to

the Institution in the academic year

1999-2000.Since then, the Department

have been blessed with the best in the

stream faculties and brilliant academic

atmosphere. The National Board of

Accreditation AICTE has given a

national Level recognition by

accrediting the Department with Grade

B. Identification of India as a potential

source of Computer professionals and

keeping in mind the employment

potential in this sector, the department

aims at providing competent

professionals to contribute its share to

this technology boom. Highly qualified

Faculty members from leading

institutions across the nation and

supporting staff with rich experience

are appointed in the department.
