this exciting new building by Acorn has a dynamic appearance achieved
through the use of clearly expressed forms giving the building a three
dimensionality that is both exciting but also complementary to its
surroundings. the artfully articulated elevations combined with a
carefully selected finish gives the building a marked individuality which
will surely make the building a recognised local landmark.
the building makes a valuable contribution to the social and economic
vitality of the area by providing two huge floors of commercial space
complemented by nine residential units of particularly unique design
and characteristic style. every unit is provided with generous external
outdoor and open plan living spaces and each of the four top floor
penthouses have incredible double height spaces giving a feeling of space
and light that is all too rarely found in modern residential developments.
internally the apartments are arranged to be as efficient as possible by
maximising the usable space. the rooms are flooded with natural light
through the numerous large sliding doors and windows. the interior
fixtures and finishes are completed to the exceptional standards to be
expected of Acorn's designers.
we are thrilled to have had the opportunity to work with Acorn on the
design and realisation of this exceptional building.

THE DEVELO
PER
Property is Acorn’s passion and since 1995 we’ve made our mark as an urban
specialist, changing the face of areas through innovative regeneration and
exciting new architecture, above all creating the kind of space people want to
live, work and spend time in.
Acorn has played a key role in the regeneration of london’s south bank, in
particular the bermondsey street area. in the mid 1990s this forgotten part of
south east london comprised mostly of vacant or redundant industrial buildings,
many of which were contaminated due to their use as tanneries in the 19th and
early 20th centuries.
now the area comprises of a mixture of stunning new build mixed-use
developments and refurbished victorian warehouses providing a thriving centre
for modern businesses employing hundreds of staff and providing homes for a
new generation of south bank residents.
