anyone who is or has been a parent knows how frustrating it can be when your little bambinos go through the stage where they appear to constantly

test the laws of gravity. They throw or drop their baby bottle, sippy cup or pacifier to the ground, sometimes repeatedly, leaving anxious parents scrambling to find a means of cleaning the objects before allowing their babies to put them back in their mouths.

Finally, there is an invention that brings peace of mind to all new parents – the Clingy Cord. The Clingy Cord is the perfect accessory for children who love to throw anything in their hands onto the dirty floor.

Clingy Cord Features & FunCtionalityThe Clingy Cord is a patented, elastic, securing loop that adjusts to hold a variety of items – sippy cups, bottles, blankets, toys, pacifiers and more – and secures them to the stroller, high chair, car seat and other items. There is nothing like the Clingy Cord currently on the market. It keeps the items from hitting the dirty floor and allows the child to retrieve dropped items on their own. It stops the “Dropsies” and puts an end to “The Throwing Game,” which also can eliminate a parent’s distracted driving to retrieve dropped items in the back seat.

The Clingy Cord is very easy to use. There is a sliding knot in the middle, and two additional beads at each end to prevent the middle bead from sliding off. It is sewn in the middle for added safety. To use the Clingy Cord you simply adjust the middle bead, open the loop and place it around the object. Secure the bead so the item is snug. Attach the link to the stroller, high chair, car seat or whatever and let the throwing begin. Target age is three months to five years. It is machine washable; tumble dry low.

tHe Motivation beHind Clingy Cord inventionOne day, Carolyn and her husband, Cory Carter, were shopping at the American Girl Doll Store near Times Square in New York City. They were with their oldest child, Caitlin, who was six months old at the time. Caitlin was just like

most babies. She would throw items out of her stroller just for fun to watch them drop. Suddenly, they couldn’t find Caitlin’s baby blanket (also known as her Noani). This sent Carolyn and Cory into complete panic mode because they knew they couldn’t leave the store without it. They began searching frantically through the mob of people trying to find Noani. They even spoke to the security guard asking if it had turned up anywhere. Eventually, they found Noani buried underneath a pile of stuff on the bottom of the stroller. Yet, they were determined never to experience this awful predicament again.

After returning home, Carolyn and Cory began searching online for a solution; something that would keep Caitlin’s blanket close to her and attached to the stroller when they ventured out.

A new Ultimate Frisbee team is rising at HSE High School. Signups have just been completed, the team is finally formed and uniforms are in the process of being made as you read this article. The Thunderbirds plan to participate in the IUA Indoor League that starts this January.

The Ultimate Frisbee sport is not sanctioned by the HSE school corporation. Therefore, this activity will function as an independent club sport run by the students. The students responsible for forming this new team sport show much excitement, maturity, drive and creativity. They have even designed their own team logo and website.

How DiD THis UlTimaTe Team GeT sTarTeD aT Hse?“My brother and I took summer gym where we played Ultimate Frisbee and loved it,” says Trevor Chapin, founder and captain of HSE Ultimate Thunderbird Team and junior at HSE High School. He continues, “My brother (Connor Chapin) and I bought a Frisbee and began playing with friends, asking who would want to play?”

Soon after, Trevor went into the office of Dr. John Milleman, principal of HSE High School, and spoke with him about

adding this new sport to the school. Although Trevor learned that the school could not fund this sport, he did appreciate Dr. Milleman’s attention to the matter.

“Dr. Milleman seemed to be enthusiastic about the idea though newer budget restrictions forced his hand. He was very helpful in allowing our group to meet at school in the commons area. Furthermore, he gave me the idea of using public parks for practice, an easy way to get access to well maintained fields.”

As Trevor left the office he was determined to form a team. However, he realized that he and his friends would have to organize this emerging sport in its entirety. In fact, his brother, Connor Chapin, freshman at HSE, was creative in coming up with the team name: HSE Thunderbirds. Trevor designed the team logo and website with the help of Connor, with whom he cleared his ideas.
