‘My Green Day’ A new programme “My Green Day” at our long stay resort properties encourages guests to participate by choosing not to have their room cleaned daily, saving tons of water, chemicals, and other waste. In return, we reward our guests with an F&B credit for use with the hotels restaurants and bars. The door signs for the programme are made out of faux leather, which is a very durable material.

Centara Maldives’ Underwater Symposium Centara Grand Island Resort and Spa Maldives & Centara Ras Fushi Resort & Spa Maldives celebrated International Day for the preservation of the Ozone Layer 2015 by holding an underwater symposium at the depth of eight metres at a reef known as “Thoshihaa” (a nearby reef that surrounds Centara Grand Island Resort & Spa Maldives) on September 16, 2015. The symposium pledged more emphasis and commitment by Centara Hotels & Resorts Maldives on alignment with global resolutions to reduce carbon emissions by implementing specific activities and programmes along with further investing in green technologies over the next six years. The symposium was concluded after 10 management officials from both properties of Centara Hotels and Resorts Maldives signed the underwater treaty pledging their six year commitment, witness by Maldives Ministry of Environment and Ministry of Tourism.

Centara the most Creative Environmental Friendly Holiday Tree Decoration Competition December 2015 – Centara Hotels & Resorts would like to raise awareness toward the environment and sustainability by creating environmental friendly holiday decorations out of waste.
