LIVES OF GENEROSITY / VIDAS DE GENEROSIDAD 1 Kings 17:10-16 Hebrews 9:24-28 Mark 12:38-44

We all appreciate those who are generous to us. Their kindness, thoughtfulness, support enrich our lives and make good things possible. This is certainly true at the parish level where practically everything depends on the generosity of the faithful. As Jesus praises the generosity of the poor widow in the Gospel we see that generosity is not just an action of giving money, no, we are all called to give of ourselves to God and God’s People. Generosity is a way of thinking and living. We give financial support to our parish and to other causes; we give of our time to family, friends, parish and other groups; we offer love to God and compassion to others. May we all be guided by a spirit of generosity. This week is dedicated to praying for Church vocations. We pray that many in the younger generation will be generous in the giving of their lives in service to God and God’s family. We pray that many will hear the call to serve with joy and generosity within the Church as priests, lay ministers, religious and deacons. One day I will not be here anymore. My replacement comes from within your circle of family and friends. Pray that many will hear and respond. -Fr. Edwin

Todos apreciamos a quienes son generosos con nosotros. Su amabilidad, consideración y apoyo enriquecen nuestras vidas y hacen posible las cosas buenas. Esto es ciertamente cierto a nivel parroquial donde prácticamente todo depende de la generosidad de

los fieles. Cuando Jesús alaba la generosidad de la viuda pobre en el Evangelio, vemos que la generosidad no es solo una acción de dar dinero, no, todos estamos llamados a entregarnos a Dios y al Pueblo de Dios. La generosidad es una forma de

pensar y de vivir. Damos apoyo financiero a nuestra parroquia y otras causas; damos de nuestro tiempo a la familia, amigos, parroquia y otros grupos; ofrecemos amor a Dios y compasión a los demás. Dejémonos guiar todos por un espíritu de generosidad. Esta semana también está dedicada a orar por las vocaciones de la Iglesia. Oramos para que muchos de la generación más joven sean generosos al dar su vida al servicio de Dios y de la familia de Dios. Oramos para que muchos escuchen el llamado a servir con alegría y generosidad dentro de la Iglesia como sacerdotes, ministros laicos, religiosos y diáconos. Un día ya no estaré aquí. Mi reemplazo proviene de su círculo de familiares y amigos. Ore para que muchos escuchen y respondan. --P. Edwin

Loving Jesus, Good Shepherd, you invite us all to be your disciples

and to generously serve the Reign of God. Your Church is in need

of a new generation of shepherds. Hear our prayer that many respond

to the call to serve God’s People as priests, as catechists, as religious, as deacons

and as ministers of charity and justice. May your Holy Spirit renew us every day

to be servants of the Gospel. Amen.

Amado Jesús, Buen Pastor, nos invitas a todos a ser tus discípulos

y servir generosamente el Reino de Dios. Tu Iglesia necesita una nueva generación de pastores.

Escucha nuestra oración que muchos respondan al llamado a servir al Pueblo de Dios como sacerdotes, como catequistas,

como religiosos, como diáconos y como ministros de caridad y justicia.

Que tu Espíritu Santo nos renueve cada día a ser siervos del Evangelio. Amén.

CENA DE ACCION DE GRACIAS

El miércoles 24 de noviembre de las 5:30 pm hasta las 8:00 pm. Nuestra Iglesia de San Ignacio de Loyola organizara una Cena especial para que nuestros hermanos/as) más necesitados de nuestra comunidad celebren con gozo esta fiesta de Acción de Gracias (Thanksgiving). Debido a la pandemia se les repartira esta cena para llevar. Podrán recoger su comida afuera del salón parroquial sobre la Montevista.

Como siempre necesitamos la ayuda y colaboración de todos los feligreses y personas de buena voluntad.

Usted puede hacerlo donando:

-Pavos (congelados o horneados). Los pavos congelados, los necesitamos antes del domingo 22 de noviembre.

-Charolas de puré de papa ya preparado.

-Verduras enlatadas o cosidas el mismo dia: elote, ejotes.

-Pan para la comida.

-Bebidas: Aguas frescas, agua natural, te o café.

-Postres como pie, pastelitos, etc.

-Desechables: recipientes para llevar comida, vasos de carton para agua fria y para café con tapadera, cucharas, tenedores, servilletas y bolsas de plástico de agarradera.

Si desea donar por favor comuniquese con la oficina parroquial, una religiosa o lider de su grupo después de las misas dominicales.

THANKSGIVING DINNER FEAST

On Wednesday, November 24 from 5:30 pm to 8:00 pm. Our parish of St. Ignatius of Loyola will organize a special dinner for our brothers/sisters most in need in our community to celebrate

with joy this Thanksgiving feast. Due to the pandemic, this dinner will be distributed by take out only. Food pick up location will be outside the par ish hall on Monte Vista St. As always we need the help and collaboration of all parishioners and people of good will.

You can do it by donating:

-Turkeys (frozen or baked). The frozen turkeys, we need them before Sunday, November 22.

-Mashed potatoes already prepare in disposable trays.

-Vegetables canned: corn, green beans, yams (sweet potatoes), canberry sauce

-Dinner Rolls

-Drinks: Bottle water .

-Desserts such as pie, cupcakes, cookies

-Disposables: containers cardboard carryout, paper cups for cold/hot with lids, spoons, forks, napkins and plastic bags with a handle. NO SYROFOAM. If you would like to donate please contact the parish office, a religious leader or a leader of your group after Sunday Masses. Thank you very much for your generosity.
