Bureau Launches Electronic Recruitment Site

The WDVCB is excited to launch a new electronic Job Board for Bureaumembers to post job vacancies. This exclusive member benefit willreplace the WDVCB Employment Opportunity Guide (static PDF) at theend of 2018. Between November 1 and the end of the year, both theEmployment Opportunity Guide and the electronic Job Board will beavailable for members to use and candidates to access. The WDVCB Job Board will be the most comprehensive site dedicatedsolely to filling jobs in the Wisconsin Dells/Lake Delton areas. The sitewill go live the first week of November and can be accessed via a linksent to members soon. Please watch for a separate email with the Job Board link and detailedinstructions on how to set up your member account to post jobopenings and search resumes through this recruitment site. We are still in transition and the Job Board content might changeslightly during the next months. In the interim, we appreciate yourpatience and welcome any feedback you have. October Tradeshows, Conferences & Events Recap

The Wisconsin Department of Tourism again offered a state-widepresence at IMEX America (Incentive Travel, Meetings, & Expositions)in Las Vegas, NV October 16-18, 2018. The WDVCB was a partnerdestination along with Green Bay, Lake Geneva, Madison andMiddleton. IMEX America is the largest event of its type in the US.More than 13,000 participants were in attendance. The Meet inWisconsin! Booth provided attendees an opportunity to discuss futureconvention opportunities for Wisconsin, as well as sample and learnabout award-winning Wisconsin cheeses. The WDVCB conducted one-on-one appointments and presented Wisconsin Dells event venues togroups of individuals who visited the Meet in Wisconsin! booth. Eachyear the success and quality of appointments at this show hasincreased, with traffic to our booth doubling 2017.

HSMAI-WI (Hospitality Sales and Marketing Association International,Wisconsin Chapter) will be meeting in Wisconsin Dells on Thursday,November 15th at Glacier Canyon Lodge at the Wilderness.

HSMAI provides education, advocacy and certification specific to thehospitality industry. This lunch and learn will feature a presentationfocused on revenue management. Registration is open to both HSMAImembers and non-members. Click here for more information.

Dells On Tap Weekend

We kicked off Dells On Tap Weekend (October 12-13) with our fifthannual Dells Craft Beer Walk. Over 500 craft beer aficionados sampledand tasted their way through downtown Friday evening. Despite theearly morning weather, crowds of eager participants arrived onSaturday, marking the 20th Annual Dells On Tap. The day started withthe Dells On Tap Race to the Taps 5K with over 60 runners. With almostperfect weather, from noon on, Dells On Tap was a huge success,hosting 65 microbreweries showcasing craft brewing and well over2,000 attendees.

Special thanks to the City of Wisconsin Dells for use of the WisconsinDells Festivals site; the crew of the Original Wisconsin Ducks®,Showboat Saloon, Port Huron Brewing Company and Wisconsin DellsBrewing Company for assistance in setup; and the Baraboo MeatMarket for providing fantastic food! To the over 30 volunteers whogenerously donated their time throughout the weekend, we couldn'thave done it without you! Festivals like Dells On Tap are successfulbecause of the support of our members. Thank you all for yourcontinued contributions to Wisconsin Dells Festivals, Inc.

First Annual Festivals, Inc. Fall Wine Walk

Wisconsin Dells Festivals, Inc. hosted their very first Fall Wine Walk indowntown Wisconsin Dells on October 20. The event included nearly 20participating locations serving both a red and a white wine, alongsidedelicious food samplings. Over 500 attendees received acommemorative wine glass and enjoyed windy but dry weather tastingand touring downtown Wisconsin Dells!

Thank you to the Original Wisconsin Ducks® and Wisconsin Dells Taxifor providing the shuttle service for guests and to the downtownbusinesses that participated.

2018 Wisconsin Lodging Conference & Trade Show

The 2018 Wisconsin Lodging Conference & Trade Show will be heldNovember 4-6, 2018 at The Osthoff Resort in Elkhart Lake, WI.

The Wisconsin Association of Convention & Visitors Bureaus (WACVB)will be holding their 22nd annual Fall Tourism Conference on Thursdayand Friday, November 8 & 9, 2018 at the Stevens Point Holiday Inn &Convention Center in Stevens Point, WI.
