Mrs. Roussell’s Classroom Newsletter Nov. 2 nd – Nov. 6 th This Week’s Assignments Reading – This week in Reading we will be working on non-fiction text structures. The structures of focus this week will be captions, table of contents, and glossary. Continue having your children read nightly. This helps with fluency and many other reading skills. Writing – We will read the book I Know It’s Autumn . We will use this book to help us write our own book about autumn. Spelling – Students will be given Unit 11 Spelling words for the week. Grammar practice will be due Friday. They will be tested over the words on Friday. Math – We will again continue our work with place value. We will focus on comparing and ordering numbers as well as rounding. Please check over your child’s math with them nightly. We have homework almost every night and I make them take it home. Science - Electricity will be our focus of study for the next couple of weeks. We will be focusing this week on static and current electricity. We will also experiment with conductors and insulators. Reminders to Parents 1. Remember to check the blog for new pictures and updates. 2. Check your child’s assignment book nightly and ask them about their day at school.
