A reminder to parents to please supervise your children so that everyone has the opportunity to enjoy the evening. SACRAMENT OF PENANCE The staff have been working very hard to ensure that the Year Three children have been well prepared to receive their First ReconciliaPon next Thursday evening. A significant event in this journey is the Parent/Child workshop which will be held this evening at 6.00pm. Please meet at the church where Fr Quynh will speak with everyone before they move across to the school to complete some acPviPes together. In History, the students have started looking at the topic of penal colonies including the Swan RiverColonyandhowitwasafreecolonybeforeintroducingconvictstothecolony.Theyhavelookedatthedifferencesbetweenlivinginthe1860sandlivingintoday’ssociety.InArt,thestudentswerealsoabletodepict different famous Swan River Colony pictures in their own drawings where they sketched thepictureandusedblackoilpasteltodefinethelinesandusedcolouredpencilstogiveitcolour.
InGeography,thestudentshavealsobeenresearchinginformaPonabouttheAboriginalculturalPestothe Swan River and how there are nowmany links to the culture in the new urban development ofElizabethQuay.WehopetogainmoreknowledgeofthesePeswhenwegoonourexcursiontoElizabethQuayandStMary’sCathedrallaterintheterm.
