Others are easily understood and have no need of interpretation, but still there are those who try. This generally occurs when a particular verse conflicts with that person's own beliefs.

An example of this is found in Ephesians 5:22-24 - Wives, be subject to your own husbands, as to the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife, as Christ also is the head of the church, He Himself being the Savior of the body. Hebrews 9:22 - And according to the Law, one may almost say, all things are cleansed with blood, and without shedding of blood there is no forgiveness. The shedding of Christ's blood on the cross was a necessity for our salvation. You can't interpret it any other way.

We are beginning the renovation of the playground area. It was discussed in the April business meeting and we realize that as the church is continuing to grow our current playground area is not able to safely meet the needs of our children. We are so excited about the growth in the AWANA ministry and in our Sunday school ministry. We are going to need help from the church as we begin this task.

1. We will have a work “morning” on Friday, May 6th. We need to get the existing playground equipment removed. We have some other jobs that need to be done that morning so we can be ready for a group of volunteers that will be here the next Saturday.

2. On Saturday, May 14th we will have a mission group here to work all day. They will be building a new fence around the playground, working on flower beds around the church, painting in some of the buildings, etc. We need to have things ready for them so their ministry day is as productive as possible.

3. The playground will be finished as funds are available. What that means is, we need people to give to the “building and grounds” fund so we can begin to build a safer and larger playground for our children.

Please be in prayer about helping in any way in this project. If you are willing to help with any of the work or planning please contact me at the church office or by email at [email protected]

We are changing our approach to choir with the desire to involve more people. We began in the month of April. Our next “monthly rehearsal” is on May 29th from 3:00 – 5:30pm. We have rehearsal CD’s available so you will have all month to listen and learn the songs. Please consider joining us in leading in worship. If you have any questions please contact me either at the office or by email. [email protected]
