Notes For Wedding Venues Rental Package Romantic wedding venues at Ma Wan Park’s Nature Garden are available for hire. Venue

uses include official marriage registration, wedding photo-taking, cocktail party reception,

and more.

(A) Romantic Wedding Package: Sweet Garden or Hilltop Lookout

The Sweet Garden is located along the Rainbow Wall near the Nature Garden’s

main entrance. Highlights of the facility include an exclusive pavilion, a winding

path lined with budding flowers, plus the use of the 600m² Gathering Plaza that can

accommodate over 100 guests.

The Hilltop Lookout is situated on the Nature Garden’s summit. It offers a level

timber platform with optical fibre lamps on the wooden flooring. It covers about

500m² that can cater for about 100 guests. Its and beautiful views of the marvelous

Tsing Ma Bridge and open water surrounding the island make an ideal location for

a romantic event.

Whether you choose the Sweet Garden or the Hilltop Lookout, decorations for your

event include a stage with backdrop, wedding tent with flower ornaments, PA

system, wedding bell, 4-tier wedding cake for photo-taking, two sets of easels for

your photo display, rostrum, red carpet, ring pillow, feather pen, champagne flute,

knife, Bible, cross, guest chairs with cover, decorative pillars, and more.

To create a festive atmosphere, floating bubbles will be generated upon the arrival

of the wedding couple.

Other special offerings include a half-hour complimentary rehearsal time,

background music for the wedding, and complimentary use of make-up facilities

(B) Your Endless Love Wedding Package: Making a Solemn Pledge of Love

Imagine how meaningful it could be after exchanging your vows to leave a memorial of

your endless love. For only $2,888 the wedding couple can enjoy a tailor-made wedding

love-boulder with their names painted on it. For sweet remembrance and a testimony of

your love story to all, the love-boulder will be placed inside the Nature Garden for three

years after the ceremony.

procedures. Each additional hour is only $3,000 charged on hourly basis inclusive

of any part of an hour

1. Application Procedures:

1.1 Applicant may submit the application up to 12 months prior to the proposed

date of the event (at the earliest) or three months prior to the date of the event

at the latest. For example, for the intended date of use of June 1, 2011, the

application should reach the Ma Wan Park Management Services Office

between June 1st, 2010, and February 28th, 2011. 1.2 The total number of participants should be limited to 100 people. 1.3 Applicant must complete and return the “Application Form For Wedding

Venues Rental” together with copies of the applicant’s HK identification

documents to the Ma Wan Park Management Services Office either in person,

by post, by fax, or by email. When the application is being made by a

corporation, the applicant must submit a copy of the HK business registration

certificate.

Booking by fax: 3446 1230 Booking by email: booking@mawanpark.com 1.4 Applications are processed on a first-come, first-served basis and are calculated

on the date that the Ma Wan Park Management Services Office receives the

completed form. The Ma Wan Park Management Services Office will then

verify the application’s information and notify the applicant in writing within

seven working days. The applicant should pay the entire rental fee within ten

working days after the notification is issued. The fee should be paid by a

crossed cheque (bank draft is not accepted), otherwise the application will not

be confirmed. 1.5 In the event of inclement weather on the date of use (including a Black

Rainstorm signal or a tropical cyclone warning signal No. 8 or above issued by

the HK Observatory); or the Ma Wan Park Management Services Office is

required to close the booked venue for safety or operational reasons, the hirer

can request to postpone the date of use within six months from the original

booking date. If the deferring date does not fall within the validity of the

applied Certificate of Registrar of Marriage, the applicant should apply a new

certificate and absorb the filing fee at his own cost. However, if the hirer

requests to cancel the venue booking, a 50% of the total fee paid will be

deducted by the Ma Wan Park Management Services Office as administrative

charge and the remaining sum will then be refunded. 1.6 Except for the reasons as listed on item 1.5 above, an application for alteration

of the session/date/venue in respect to a previously confirmed booking will not

be accepted under any circumstance. If such a request is made by the hirer, the

hirer should apply in writing prior to the date of use and a 50% of the total fee

paid will be deducted by the Ma Wan Park Management Services Office as an

administrative charge. The remaining sum will be refunded; or used for paying

partial rental fee for such alteration. The hirer must apply for another booking

date within six months from the original booking date.

1.7 The date and time of use should include the time for on-site preparation,

decoration, rehearsal and tidying up of the venue after use. Applicant is

responsible for the crowd control of his/her guests and for removing all

additional decorations/materials that they bring along with them. 1.8 In order to streamline the application procedures, the applicant should fill in

the venue setting on the application form in detail including a planned

equipment list. If food or drinks will be provided, it should also be marked on

the list for prior approval by the Ma Wan Park Management Services Office.

Applicant may use a supplementary sheet to provide further information if they

deem necessary. 1.9 If an applicant plans to arrange a catering service at the event place by

himself/herself, an additional cleaning fee at $3,000 will be charged. 1.10 If an applicant intends to hire the venue(s) for other use, the nature of

activities/purposes of use should be stated on the application form in detail for

the consideration of the Ma Wan Park Management Services Office. However,

the Ma Wan Park Management Services Office has full discretion to accept or

reject an application without giving any reason. 1.11 By virtue of hiring a venue at Ma Wan Park, all participants give their consent

to photo-taking and video-shooting by Ma Wan Park Limited throughout their

activities at Ma Wan Park. Ma Wan Park Limited reserves the right to publish

these images and recordings for promotional purposes. 1.12 The applicant and his/her guests should observe all Park rules and regulations

as displayed in the Park and those stipulated in the Ma Wan Park website. 1.13 Applicant should notify the Ma Wan Park Management Services Office of any

change in particulars relating to their applications immediately.

2. Transportation:

The road connecting Ma Wan Island from the Tsing Ma Bridge is a restricted road

managed by HK SAR Government. Only vehicles with valid permits issued by HK

Transport Department are allowed to enter Ma Wan. The Ma Wan Park Management

Services Office is available to assist the arranging a wedding car and coach(es) for the

applicant and his/ her guests.

3. Restrictions:

3.1 Lighting of candles, fire or the use of fireworks, explosives and any

pyrotechnic material is strictly prohibited. 3.2 Basic power points are available and no application for additional electricity

supply will be approved. 3.3 The hirer should be held liable and make full compensation for any damage of

Park equipment and/or facilities at market rate. 3.4 Any activity or material used which may damage the shrub, tree or plant will

not be allowed. 3.5 No temporary structures (such as props, stage or tent) are allowed to be

erected. 3.6 The Office will provide public address system for the hirer. No other sound

amplification system should be brought to use. The hirer and his guests should

comply with the Noise Control Ordinance (Cap. 400) and should avoid creating

noise nuisance to the residents nearby, especially during session C. 3.7 Distribution of any promotional materials or display of any commercial

advertisement is not allowed within the booked venue. 3.8 If any media activity including but not limited to broadcasting within the

booked venue is arranged, prior approval from the Office should be obtained. 3.9 Transfer of right to use the booked venue to other person(s) or companies in

respect of a previously confirmed booking will not be accepted unless prior

consent is given by the Ma Wan Park Management Services Office by means

of written notice. Otherwise, the booking will be treated as cancellation while

the total fee paid will be forfeited.

4. Others:

4.1 Do not post any cheque or cash to the Office at this stage. 4.2 Applications with short notice or insufficient information provided will be

turned down.
