    DO-Rest: Sleep is essential in strengthening the bodyin order to fight infection

    DO-Water: Drink plenty of water, 8-10 glasses per day- this thins mucous, allowing it to drain easier

    DON'T-Smoke: Smoking irritates respiratory tract,paralyzes cilia (hair-like structures that movemucous).

    DO-Heat: Warm compresses applied to areas offacial pressure will relieve pain or hot showers andsteam may allow for drainage.

    DO- Decongestants: Both oral and nasalsprays will increase drainage and

    provide some relief. Caution on usingproducts for more than 3-5 days - thismay cause a rebound effect whichmeans the body will over produce

    mucous once the product isdiscontinued.
