About Northwestern Academy

• Four programming areas– Personal Enrichment & Leadership Development

through classroom and field experiences, focusing on personal growth and reflection.

– College Advising for both students and families– Cultural & Civic Engagement through events in and

around the city of Chicago • No cost for student or family• Adaptive programs to meet students’ needs– No event is for all students– No two students have an identical experience

Who Qualifies?

• Academically excellent, earning all As & Bs in rigorous courses (AP, IB, Honors when available)

• Must meet one of the following four categories:– Socioeconomically disadvantaged (i.e. free or

reduced lunch, or a family of four earning >$65,000)– Underrepresented ethnic or cultural minority (i.e.

African American, Hispanic/Latino, Native American, Pacific Islander, etc.)

– First-generation in family to attend a four-year college in the United States
