What gives us life force? Our breath! The two are inextricably linked. So much so that the word for breathing technique is called\n\”pranayama\”. To have a true yoga practice, one must master the breath (pranayama), the asanas, and follow a life that adheres to the yogic code of\nethics; however, pranayama can be elusive and difficult to master.

This epic 2-hour workshop will spend the first hour teaching you pranayama breathing techniques, and the second hour on how to take your physical practice to the next level by incorporating your breath in a powerful flow. Suitable for beginner and advanced yogis alike.

Benefits of Pranayama include:• Increased focus• Increased lung capacity and function• Increased cardiovascular health• Increased Mindfulness• Great tool for calming the nervous system - decreased

Healing Through the Arts November 2The Alliance for Young Artists & Writers, in partnership with the New York Life Foundation and New Hope Center for Grief Support, presents an exhibition showcasing a selection of inspiring and innovative original work addressing grief and bereavement by teens from across the country who received Scholastic Art & Writing Awards honors from 2017–2019.

For young people who are figuring out their larger place in the world, having a safe place to express their emotions can be particularly hard. The process of creating, can provide an outlet for self-expression and an opportunity to be heard by others. Teens from across the United States submitted their creative work to the Scholastic Art & Writing Awards’ New York Life Award, which recognizes the stories of young people and their experiences with losing a loved one.

This curated collection of works submitted to the New York Life Award reflects a wide range of experiences and forms of expression, and we honor the vulnerability of our contributors and their efforts to bring this conversation to light. Please join us for this special preview event on Nov 2 at 4:00 pm in Northville, MI.

Please RSVP to Michelle Kazewych at [email protected].

Every Christmas Story Ever Told (And Then Some)November 14 - December 22Every neighborhood has that one house that goes overboard with Christmas decorations. This play is that house. This holiday season, theatres across the world will be presenting their version of A Christmas Carol, but not us! Join three actors as they reminisce on all the holiday classics and international traditions that help bring the true spirit of Christmas to life. This hilarious holiday favorite was last presented at Tipping Point 10 seasons ago to sold out audiences and was the longest running show in our history. Christmas fanatics and Scrooges alike will light up with holiday spirit at Every Christmas Story Ever Told (And Then Some!), where anything can happen. PRODUCTION NOTE: Every Christmas Story Ever Told (And Then Some!) is not intended for young audiences. We recommend bringing only those who know the secrets of Christmas. Will Hades and Persephone’s love conquer all? Is Poseidon the only god capable of resisting Aphrodite’s charms? Find out all this and more when you come see Olympus Fever in December! This year’s show tells a tale of Greek gods and goddesses, all set to music from the 1970s. Regular and cabaret seating is available for all performances.
