March 2015 “Enhancing producer profitability through integrated services.” N orthStar Cooperative is both delighted and saddened to announce the upcoming retirement of DHI Specialist Training Coordinator Doug Brook. With more than 30 years of DHI experience, Doug and his vast knowledge will be greatly missed. “Enhancing producer profitability through integrated services.”

NorthStar Cooperative is both delighted and saddened to announce the upcoming

retirement of DHI Specialist Training Coordinator Doug Brook. With more than 30 years of DHI experience, Doug and his vast knowledge will be greatly missed. In 1985, Doug transitioned from the family dairy farm to working as a field representative for Michigan DHIA. DID YOUKNOW ? Database Item (DBI) 684 allows

you to create a report with multiple controls and identify why a specific

animal is on a report, so it’s very useful for vet check reports. You can combine various reports into one report with several OR statements in the Controls/Filters tab. For instance include: • Animals that haven’t been bred or marked OK to breed• Animals that have been bred 60 to 90 days and have not been coded pregnant• Animals that have been coded pregnant but have not been verified pregnant

• Animals that are getting ready to dry off and have not been verified pregnant twice

To use DBI 684 you need to list it under Database Items to List in Report. This will allow the data to display as a column for the final report. With each OR statement, DBI 684 is listed under the Controls/Filters and the lower column is filled out with the user created reason on report. Sync this report to PocketDairy and see the index and reason on report in a custom grid as well.
