Everyone had a great time and the weather cooperated. It was great to see so many new members at the last two rallies and I want to thank all of the hosts and the volunteers that made this rally season so successful. Once John publishes the schedule for next year, take time to really plan ahead and let him know those rallies that you plan on attending. With so many campgrounds asking for payment in full at the time reservations are made, which could be in the spring for a fall rally, it helps the hosts greatly to know who is definitely going to attend. Notes from the Editor!!

Hello Everyone,

What a fantastic end to the rally season with the October rally hosted by the Widmark’s. As my time as President of the Northeast Pacers comes to an end, I want to thank the Board for their support during the past six years and ask that they con-tinue that support for the incoming President, Steve Devan. For those of you staying north for the winter, stay warm and for those of you travelling south, enjoy the warm weather. To all, drive safely and we’ll see you next year. Carol and I wish you a thankful Thanksgiving, a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Greg

August 14th to the 16th Rally at Circle Farm Campground in Bellingham, MA

August Tailgating Rally Well, the saying, “great things come in small packages” certainly applied to this rally. As it turned out, there were only 5 coaches present, but I think all will agree there was big-time fun. After a hearty sweetbread french toast cas-serole, folks were able to go to the Hall at Patriots Place, the Southwick Zoo, which had some very special events to celebrate its 50th anniversary, or just relax in the “adult only” swimming pool. Some of us even sneaked off to “Fruggle Fannies” and did some shopping. The Saturday evening tailgating party was kicked off with a beer tasting party (where everyone brought an in-teresting beer to taste) Some even brought other interesting beverages …..leave it to the Pacers. After loads of gourmet brats and …...we finished the party off with root beer floats. To complete the camping experience, a quick thunderstorm had us running for cover at the end of our tailgating party. We awoke to sunshine and happy campers as we said our farewells on Sun-day. Looking forward to seeing each other at future rallies. Submitted by Marcella and Rick Pasetto / Rally Hosts

July 7th to the 12th Rally—NEAR Rally in Essex Junction, VT

Thank You to all who attended the NEAR Rally for 2015. We had another big success with sales from the FMCA clothing booth. We sold a little over $2000.00 in merchandise. With the low attendance numbers at this rally, you all did a wonderful job for the FMCA family. Thank You for your efforts and time. We set up the tent on Tuesday afternoon after a little complication with our site, but it worked out for the best and we all enjoyed our spot on the field. Fortunately the weather was with us for the six day event with 8 coaches from our club attending. We enjoyed many dinners and bag breakfasts under the tents and were joined by a few outside guests including Charlie Adcock our FMCA president. He was roaming all over the rally grounds kissing babies and shaking hands looking for Votes for the run as the FMCA president. Along with Charlie, we were also joined by two new members who enjoyed a few meals with us. I’d like to welcome Jim and Lynn Edwards and Skip and Kate Potter. One event that we enjoyed was a dinner out at The Essex Vermont’s Culinary Resort and Spa. This is a wonderful restaurant with an atrium at the rear of the restaurant within the herb gardens used by the Culinary Chefs. The food is phenomenal ! Our club discovered this location last year and we just had to go back for another visit. This will be the last time that the FMCA Northeast rally will be hosted by Essex County Fairgrounds as we have now completed our fifth year commitment with them. The Great news for next year is that the Northeast Area will be hosting the FMCA International rally in Springfield, Mass. at the Big E fairgrounds. The President has indicated that they are expecting four to six thousand RV Rigs. That’s incredible! We haven’t seen those numbers since the early 2000 era. We have been advised to get our reservations in as soon as possible. The fair-grounds won’t hold numbers of that size and they are using another site somewhere nearby for the overflow. We will be asked to volunteer in some capacity, as they will need a lot of support . We as a club will talk about our participation for this event in the near future. The dates for this International Rally are AUGUST 3 thru 6, 2016. A pre-rally nearby would be a good op-portunity for our club to gather before we go in as a group. If someone knows of a good location to do this, please contact me. Rally report submitted by your Wagonmaster—John McCormack

September 17th to the 20th Rally at Bayley’s Campground in Scarborough,ME

THE SEPTEMBER RALLY

Hi all, Carol here! I’m writing this little ditty on the behalf of the Corzatts and Duffs. September’s rally in Scarborough, Maine, was a success. To start with, the weather was on our side, the comradery was in high gear with 14 rigs in attendance and as ex-hibited by the endless chatter when all gathered. And the Pot Roast Dinner turned out to be exceptional despite the number of cooks in the kitchen. Everyone had time to do whatever they wanted as exampled by the scattering of souls after breakfast until their return in time for happy hour. For those who chose to stay at the campground napping in the warm sun seemed to be a good idea. We want to thank all who attended our rally. It was great to have new people as guests. Hopefully the guests will become members. Rally report submitted by Carol Duff

Pumpkins and Apples and Squash Oh My! Columbus Day weekend 2015

We prayed for good weather and our prayers came true. It’s a well known fact that the first thing the hosts hope for with a rally they’re hosting (and maybe those their not hosting but attending) is non wet weather. The reasons are obvious. Country Aire CG was a terrific site for this rally particularly because the mornings and nights were cool and they had a pa-vilion right across from the majority of rigs. (14). The BIG plus to that setup was that they had a BIG fireplace that projected good heat when we needed it both a.m. and p.m. Thank you to those who acted as our Boy Scouts….you know who you are J.

Friday: We neglected to say it rained but it was brief enough that we can’t remember when it started or stopped –

call it selective memory. This 1st rally night was KISS for supper. Keep It Simple Silly. (after the 1st Attitude Adjustment, of course – with delish App’s provided by Noels, Fournier, McCormack, & Duff) ) Hosts provided 3 varied salads and every-one brought something to grill on the grills lined up on picnic tables. Orange & black covered chocolate Kisses were sprin-kled on the tables and there were very few left after the meal. There were 4 Maple Pumpkin Pies for dessert (made by hosts using their Convection oven for 1st time! Wahoo!)

Saturday: Woke to sunny, blue skies and lots of smiles. Breakfast had fruit et al along with warm mulled

Cider that was kept plugged in all weekend. Cooked overnight in a big crockpot was Cranberry-Maple Steel Cut Oatmeal. Pretty yummy. After breakfast were the “things to do and games we’ll play”. Handed out were gift bags with various items like colored felt and pipe cleaners and googly eyes among other things (like a red plastic spoon). Each rig picked a small pumpkin of their

choice and the goal was to create a pumpkin using all ( or most) ingredients offered in bag. The judging would be on Sunday during Attitude Adjustment (AAH), which was successfully & seriously, performed by the

gracious CG Owner – who followed the list of items that coulda/woulda/shoulda been included in the design. Aren’t the pho-

tos fabulous! (Too many to insert here so please see page 7) Be proud all you creative & talented Pacers.

As the Judge indicated: “He didn’t expect it to be so hard to choose 1st, 2nd 3rd place.” But he stuck to his list of items to be included and took serious notes. For that effort, he received a Maple Pumpkin Pie as he was providing us samples of his freshly tapped Maple Syrup. Pretty cool. Much to their surprise, our Engineer couple Valerie & Ken came up 1st place. As Engineers with their own ideas, they dili-gently worked together (best they could) to put their pumpkin together – and as Engineers would know to do – they included every single item in their winning entry including pom pom balls and the red plastic spoon (acting as a tongue sticking out – I think that was Ken’s idea.) Too funny!

As a small aside: If we had had categories (which we didn’t) the pumpkin using the most & all natural ingredients (and none from the bag) would have gone to Faticanti ‘s for it’s autumn display of fresh leaves, etc. Maybe next time. With so much to do in the area it was a free day of exploring. The Scavenger Hunt was cancelled since few were back by 3. Lest you not worry, they were all back for AAH! Look no further than the Pacers for App’s galore with tonight’s cooked up by: Schenmeyers, Chapman, Dishong, and Potter. Maybe we should have a App Cook Off sometime, LOL!

FIRST PLACE Ken and Valerie

SECOND PLACE Marie Pulnik

THIRD PLACE Jeanine & Richard

Pumpkins and Apples and Squash Oh My! Columbus Day weekend 2015

CONTINUED Salad favorites were dreamed up by: Edwards, McCormack, Noel, and Heath. We feasted as per is usual of the renowned North East Pacers. Host partner, Peter, had his beautiful albeit heavy 35 lb accordion on board and together we had a blast with Name That Tune – and the opportunity to win prizes ranging from Tissue packs to orange Fly swatters. Every one seemed happy happy. Next time Gregg will bring his keyboard so they can jazz up the night even more. Dancing by the fireplace was romantic & just plain fun – like a good old barn dance.

Sunday: Since it was Columbus Day weekend we had the pleasure of serving up more good food for breakfast.

Thanks to our volunteer “Flipper Chef” (wearing an apron, no less) John H. helped us welcome hungry Pacers to Apple Pan-cakes and REAL warm Maple Syrup. Of course, leftovers from previous breakfasts were available. After breakfast, with 4 crock pots available and helpful volunteers (special thanks to these curious Pacer women) as we divided up 160 whole garlic cloves and dried apricots between them. Lined with folded aluminum foil, we placed a 4-5 lb fresh chix to sit atop that garlic/apricot blend for the next 8-10 hours. Needless to say they did turn out moist & flavorful. The CG smelled good! Another free day and still no one chose to play Bocce Ball! The leaves were changing beautiful colors so sight seeing was tops on the list. 4:30 AAH shows up and so do the Pacers! Topping it off with more tasty Apps this time served up by: Edwards, Faticanti, Pulnik, Devan’s. We just might have a “blind” App tasting some time J.

The Last Supper: Almost competed with a NE Football game (I think), however, the TV viewers learned mighty quick

they wouldn’t eat if they didn’t show face. Thank you for joining us J - it meant a lot! The Apricot-Garlic Chicken was ready to be served along with more delish salads put together by Chapman, Potter, Duff, No-el. How could we get so lucky having so many good cooks in one group? Never one to not think thru what tastes good with what, hot sides were a hit, thanks to McCormack’s famous mashed potatoes, and Fournier and Heath specialties! And if you think we couldn’t eat any more, Schenmeyer and Dishong slid in sweets we couldn’t pass up. Just when you think it won’t end, it didn’t. Host’s were spattering questions on the history of Columbus Day and the Pacer tables were challenged to answer them. What a fine group of Historians, we have. Not just because we’re old, either.

MONDAY – Happy Columbus Day, Everyone!

Eating leftovers, sharing them to take with you, exchanging more laughs, memories, and goodbyes. That’s what we, as Pacer Family, do so well. We hope the new comers who joined us enjoyed themselves and the old comers added to their memory banks. No tent to take down since we used the Pavillion so we bid you all adieu. TILL WE MEET AGAIN…AUFWIEDERSEHEN J Tonight was Smorgasbord and unless they switched without us knowing we had a Crock Pot feast lovingly prepared by: Four-nier, Pulnik (Welcome!), Duff, Devan, and Faticanti. Unbelievable that we can all stay in such good shape with such good food J. Hahaha. Rally report provided by Laurie Widmark
