Semester 1 Report Cards
Yesterday we began sending out electronic copies of our
students report cards to our parent community. If you
have not received your child’s report card for any reason,
please make contact with our administration staff and we
can ensure your copy is forwarded to you.
106.3 Breakfast visit
Congratulations to our amazing parents and community for voting for our
school to host the 106.3 radio show breakfast program from our school on the
morning of Tuesday July 30. The team from 106.3 will be hosting their
morning show out of our CAM until 9:00am that morning. As students ar-
rive from 8:10 onwards they will be able to see the show being broadcast live
with interviews and activities planned. We are looking forward to this op-
portunity to share with Townsville the great work being achieved by our
students, staff and P&C.
Stage 2 construction
This last 2 weeks has seen significant movement and progress for the second
stage of our school construction. All of our new buildings have their steel
framework completed and the outside brickwork on the hall is really begin-
ning to take shape. After our team got to do a site walk last week we are
very impressed with the size and scale of our new multipurpose hall. As is
begin to take shape we will share some more images of it’s progress for those
parents and community members who do not get to see visit our school on a
regular basis.
Year 6 to 7 Transition

all students even if they will not be attending this high school next year. We

Payment Policy for Extra-curricular activities
At North Shore State School we encourage students to participate in extra—curricular activities such as Inter-
school sport, excursions, and music.
All students will be given a permission slip which provides details on the event and associated costs. Payments
and permission slips must be returned by the due date to be able to participate. Due to deadlines for booking
of buses and facilities, if payment has not been received by the due date then the position will be offered to the
next person on the waiting list.
Please note that late payments will no longer be accepted and screenshots of payments made will not be accepted
as payments can reject for various reasons e.g. incorrect bank account or insufficient funds. Students will also not
be able to participate if they have outstanding payments due.
We appreciate your assistance in helping us to effectively plan these out of school excursions.
Season 2 Interschool Sport
Season 2 Interschool Sport this Thursday. All children need to be in full school uni-
form, including a school hat to attend each week. Children will also need to bring a
water bottle with them to take to their games. Just a reminder, children playing
soccer MUST play in shin pads. These can be purchased from Intersport, Rebel
Sport or Kmart.
Instrumental Music News
Welcome back to term three. We have had a great start to the term with students collecting and reading their timeta-
bles and remembering to come to their lesson on time. It was great to see students prepared for their lesson with their
instruments, music and required equipment ready to go! I love coming back to a new term and hearing that so many
students have practiced over the holidays. We are very excited to start North Shores first beginner concert band. The
woodwind, brass and percussion students will be busy rehearsing every Friday at second break in the music block.
Keep your ears open for some familiar tunes coming from these wonderful young musicians. Keep up the practice and
beautiful music making!

100 Days of School
Tuesday was our 100th day of school this year. We had a great time in Prep taking part in English, Maths, STEM and
Art activities in the different Prep classrooms. We stacked towers of 100 cups, counted 100 objects, wrote about spend-
ing 100 dollars, threaded 100 Cheerios onto a necklace and even made pictures showing what we would look like when
we are 100 years old! It was so much fun.

Dear Parent/Guardian
RE: School Run4Fun Colour Explosion
We’re turning our event from bland to GRAND this year by adding an explosion of colour. The more money we
raise the more we can provide for the students through vital school projects, to purchase field goals for our
school oval.
The School Run4Fun Colour Explosion will be held on Tuesday 13th August 2019. We do ask that you bring a spare change of
clothes to school, most importantly a plain white shirt as the students will be covered in powder from head to toe. The day’s focus
is on fun and fitness with the added benefit of raising funds for our school.
The cost of the event will be $5.00 entry per child in which they will receive their free protective sunglasses and headbands
plus a free icy pole and participation certificate.
Colour Powder
The colour powder used in our event has been sourced direct from India, the home of Holi Powder. It is made of high quality corn
starch and permitted food colours. It’s non-toxic, biodegradable, skin safe and environmentally friendly. Toxicological Risk Assess-
ment and ingredient listings can be obtained from the School Office upon request. Students with asthma are advised to be careful
in their decision to participate.
How Does My Child Fundraise?
Students have now received a Sponsorship Form with instructions on how to raise money and order prizes. Students obtain dona-
tions in cash using the Sponsorship Form together with online fundraising. Students who raise as little as $10 or more will receive
an incentive prize for their efforts. But why not aim higher? You have the option to choose up to five (5) prizes and this will set
your fundraising goal. Family and friends are your greatest supporters, so ask them first for your support. You will reach your
fundraising goal in no time.
Student Profile Page
Create a Student Profile Page at www.myprofilepage.com.au which is unique to you. There are also some great features like re-
cording your sponsorships and selecting your prize goal. You can also register for online fundraising. It’s the easiest way to help
your child raise money and to reach your fundraising goal sooner. The average raised per student using online fundraising is $120.
WIN A SHARE OF $70,000 WORTH OF FREE SPONSORSHIP DONATIONS. Create a Student Profile Page at
www.myprofilepage.com.au and enter your unique code found on page five (5) of your Sponsorship Form to see if you’re an
instant winner. Give your fundraising goal a kick start!
How to Order Prizes?
To reward your child for their efforts, they will receive incentive prizes based on the total amount of sponsorship dollars raised in
cash, online, and if applicable, any FREE SPONSORSHIP DONATIONS won using the unique code on page five (5) of the Sponsorship
Form. You have two options to place your prize order:
1. Login or create a Student Profile Page at www.myprofilepage.com.au. Once the fundraiser has finished, click the ‘ORDER MY
PRIZE’ button and then confirm your total amount raised and order your prize/s, OR
2. Complete the back page of the Sponsorship Form and return to the school.
Please note, all donations need to be finalised on or before Friday 16th August 2019 Student prizes will be delivered shortly after.
Thank you in advance for your participation and get ready for a BLAST OF COLOUR! Happy fundraising!
