The NLIP generally intends to reduce the adverse effect of climate change and support enhanced water management in rural areas through the construction of water impounding facilities.
Specific objectives:
• Provide sustainable development in the rural areas by improving agricultural productivity;
• Increase agricultural production through the provision and improvement of irrigation and drainage infrastructure in the project area; and
• Increase farmers’ income.
