NORTH HINKSEY CE PRIMARY SCHOOLNEWSLETTER 12TH OCTOBER 2018
TERM 1 VALUE: THANKFULNESS OTTER LEARNING FOCUS: THINK
CELEBRATIONS
NORTH HINKSEY INSPIRED
Thank you to everyone who helped and came to North Hinksey Inspired on Tuesday. It was a wonderful success
with children loving holding eyes, hearts and giant amethysts! The children loved the workshops with Team
Bloodhound making their cars go as fast as possible against the speedometer. Thank you to all the parents who
volunteered and gave their time. It was another memorable event.
CROSS COUNTRY
YEAR 4 VISITOR
On Tuesday 9th October me and my dad spoke about
Eid and Hajj, the journey of a lifetime, to Year 4. I
showed my special clothes that I wear on Eid. There
were lots of questions. Thuwayba
I learnt that you have to walk around the kabbah
seven times . Charlie
It was exciting learning about Hajj. It was very hot
and it sounded fun. Samuel
SPORTS SESSIONS
We enjoyed having Mr Taylor in this week. He worked with groups of children to share ideas for games to play at
break times, as well as leading sports lessons for Year 2 and Year 3. ‘It was good. I wobbled and Lotta lifted her leg
up! Can we do it again?’ Mia
Well done to our cross country teams
for taking part in the final at Buscot
Park. They all did very well with the
Year 5/6 girls coming third overall!
They all ran very well, supported each
other and their excellent behaviour
was commented on. Well done team!
Thank you to Mrs Miller for organising
the event and for the adults who
joined for support.
SCHOOL INFORMATION
PHOTOS
Please return completed order forms to the office by Tuesday 16th October.
PUPIL INFORMATION
Your child will bring home an envelope today containing two sheets of paper. One has current information we
hold about your child. Please check this, make any amendments and return to the office. Please note we require
at least two contact details in case of an emergency. The other sheet refers to updated data protection rules and
needs completing and signing before being returned to the office. Please return both sheets by Friday 19th
October.
If your child does not bring home the envelope today, please contact the office as soon as possible.
MORNING DROP OFF
We expect all children to be in class by 8.50am ready for the start of their learning. To help with this, we would
appreciate it if all adults could ensure they are making their way off the school site at this time. If you do need to
drop off any items for your child after 8.50am, please do so by going to the office, rather than back into class as
this interrupts the learning. Thank you.
LUNCHES
There will be a new menu after half term.
If your child is late in for any reason in the morning, please make the office aware if your child is school dinners or
packed lunch. We need to know by 10.30am if your child needs a school dinner and we will not be able to provide
one if we are not informed by this time.
HOLIDAY CLUBS
Information about holiday clubs is available on the school website. Click here for more information.
HSA Autumn Film Night
Calling all mini film-lovers! Join us on Thursday 1st November for our very first Autumn Film Night! Your friends at
the HSA will be showing the seasonably spooky Hotel Transylvania in the school hall at 5.30 pm (pick up 7.30 pm).
For just £4 you’ll get a couple of child-free hours and your children will enjoy the film, two slices of pizza and a bag
of popcorn. No need to bring any cash, just make sure your child brings a drinks bottle.
Pyjamas, onesies, cuddly toys and beanbags/cushions actively encouraged!
Tickets will be available to purchase on parentmail until end of play on Monday 29th October. Due to space con-
straints we can only accommodate school children (no younger siblings), sorry.
See you there!
