    OverviewThe North Carolina Arts Council has developed a three-part 50th Anniversary Campaign to raise the profile of the many ways the North Carolina Arts Council works to build on North Carolinians’ love for the arts as an: Arts Visionary

    Economic Catalyst

    Cultural Pathfinder

    Education Champion

    This campaign includes the 50 for 50 Artist Project, the podcast Arts Across NC, and the Statewide Arts Celebration. In-depth descriptions of each follow.

    Key ObjectivesShare the impact of the North Carolina Arts Council over the last the last 50 years with our constituents, citizens and stakeholders

    • Drive 100,000 visits to our special anniversary website, NCArts50.org, and social media outlets• Exceed 50,000 impressions in earned media (publicity)• Generate 50,000 views of the 50 for 50 Artist Campaign and podcast downloads of Arts Across NC

    The Arts Council will use a grassroots/guerilla marketing approach to reinforce key 50th Anniversary promotions: 1) 50 for 50 Artist Project; 2) Arts Across NC; and the 3) Statewide Arts Celebration. Marketing strategies will include multimedia content development (video, podcast, narrative), paid advertising, proactive social media efforts and constituent engagement with the N.C. Arts Council anniversary celebration.

    Key TacticsUtilize content marketing to assist our constituents and to reach citizens to create emotional connections and aspirational desires to participate in and support the arts.

    • Execute new brand integration across all N.C. Arts Council mediums and with constituents. • Utilize multimedia assets as often as possible because of its increased storytelling potential.• Integrate 50 for 50 assets into rich social media ads, where feasible, to maximize views and increase click-

    throughs to NCArts50.org.• Align timing of paid media and social media activities to drive arts event attendance.• Work with NC Media and online outlets to publicize promotions around the 50th anniversary.

    50 for 50 Artist PromotionWhat: The North Carolina Arts Council has supported thousands of talented artists in all genres since 1967. In honor of our anniversary, 50 renowned artists with North Carolina roots wish us a Happy 50th Anniversary by sharing their North Carolina arts story and reflecting on why public funding for the arts matters.

    When: Every Tuesday morning at 10 a.m. starting August 22 through June 30, 2018

    Promotional Plan:1. Weekly press release (distributed statewide). Special email to the hometown paper or media outlet of the

    specific artists; social media campaign.2. If an artist currently lives in your city/county OR has a connection to your community the N.C. Arts Council

    will contact you in advance and provide the profile and social media resources before we release/announce the specific 50 for 50 artists. This information will be embargoed until the Tuesday release.

    Arts Across NC PodcastWhat: Arts Across NC is a podcast about and by the North Carolina Arts Council. The podcast chronicles the North Carolina Arts Council’s role in fostering the arts in our state and the profound impact of our North Carolina’s thriving arts scene on artists. Host Sandra Davidson interviews a variety of arts leaders and N.C. Arts Council staff about the role of the Arts Council across North Carolina the last five decades.
