Nordlige VerdenerÅrsrapport 2013

Rapport for Nationalmuseets tværgående forskningssatsning Nordlige verdener, første og andet halvår 2013

Med indeværende årsrapport for 2013 står Nationalmuseets tværgående forskningssatsning Nordlige Verdener foran sin afslutning. I løbet af 2014 vil en række planlagte artikler blive offentliggjort, og præsen-tationerne på den internationale konference blive udgivet i Publications from the National Museum, PNM, Studies in Archaeology & History.Et af Nordlige Verdeners større projekter, Skinddragter fra Nord, udgør grundlaget for museets kommende særudstilling Pels – liv og død, som åbner oktober 2014.

Styregruppen bestod i 2013 af:

Siden sidste halvårsrapport 2012 har der været afholdt styregruppemøde d. 14. juni og 28. november 2013 samt et afsluttende frokostmøde d. 28. februar 2013. På sidstnævnte præsenteredes guide-lines for den plan-lagte konferencepublikation.

Sognefjord i Årdal, Vestnorge. Fjorden strækker sig 220 km fra vestkysten ind i landet, hvorfra der er adgang til områdets naturlige kobberforekomster. I det 3. årtusinde f. kr. blev metal en eftertragtet ressource, der spillede en afgørende rolle ved overgangen fra senneolitikum til bronzealder i regionen.

Pamialluk, Sydgrønland. Fra 1848 var Pamialluk den vigtigste handelsstation i Kap Farvel-området, men i dag er kun ruinerne tilba-ge. Både handlen og bosættelsen blev opgivet, da man i 1922 opførte en ny station ved det nærliggende Aappilattoq.

I det 5. årtusinde f.kr. ses en markant stigning af helleristninger i det nordligste Skandinavien. Her er det menneskefigurer med elghoved-pæle fra et helleristningsfelt i Jiebmaloukta, Alta, Finmarken. Udbredelsen af de forskellige motiver vidner om store fællestræk i kosmologi og rituel praksis i regionen.
