A Brief History
• 6 Grants since 2008• Over 29,000 life jackets• 268 life jacket loaner stands• 27 states• Assist 38 non-profits/boating agencies
to host their own loaner stands

• Strategy 2.3 – Deliver Boating Safety Education Messages through Grassroots Efforts
• Strategy 2.4 and 2.5 – Deliver Branded Messages through Traditional Mass Media and Non-Traditional Media

• Strategy 8.6 – Increase Boaters’ Knowledge of Safety Equipment
Sea Tow Foundation’s Life Jacket Drive Collect new and gently used
life jackets to be repurposed in the life jacket loaner program
Sea Tow Foundation provides:– Program Manual– Press Kit– Signage files– Life Jacket Drive cards and
whistles to attach to donated life jackets
Sea Tow Foundation’s Designated Skipper Campaign
• Reduce the number of accidents and fatalities attributed to boating under the influence (BUI)
• Encourage boaters to Pledge to Be or Designate a Sober Skipper for every boating trip

• The Sea Tow Foundation’s Designated Skipper message will be distributed to boaters through print advertising, digital advertising, social media and email marketing efforts.
• States, non-profit organizations, boating agencies and boating industry companies can all participate
