Over 5,960 newly arrived households in ZamZam camp last week are awaiting verification. Clashes in Tabit and neighboring locations in North Darfur in the first half of February caused displacements from Tabit, Sheria, and Negeha to Dar Al Salam; and from Tabit, Tukamari, Sortony and Shangil Tobay locations to Tawila and Zam Zam. SOUTH DARFUR
► Background Continued clashes in the Sheria region and in Shangil Tobay between the GoS and the SLA/MM caused displacements to Mershing, Manawashi, El Malam and Beliel in March.
Armed clashes in Sheria locality in January resulted in displacements to the surrounding rural areas and villages, including Dereige Camp.
Verifications of displaced households in various villages around Kalma and Nyala, including Kass locality as a result of Pro-Doha and Anti-Doha clashes in Kalma camp in July/August 2010, were conducted by implementing partners but have not been confirmed by OCHA. These locations have therefore been removed from our list of response locations for now.
