Department of Mechanical Engineering organised a two Day Quality Improvement Programme on “Latest Trends in Manufacturing” on 7th & 8th January 2013.

Departments of CSE/IT/MCA jointly organized National Conference on “Emerging Technologies in Computer Science, ETCS-2012” in the month of October, 2012.

A Student Development Program was organized by the MCA department on 4th Feb 2013 and Prof. D.K.Mehta was the main speaker.

A Faculty Development Programme was organized by EN department on ‘Engineering Simulations Using LABVIEW & PSIM’ held on December 20-21, 2012. It was attended by about 30 faculty members and highly appreciated all.

A National Seminar on “Pharmacists in Public Health” was organized on 5th November 2012, Mrs. Archna Mudgal, Registrar cum Secretary, Pharmacy Council of India (PCI) illuminated the program by her grand presence as the Chief Guest. Dr. R. K. Khar, Ex-Head, Jamia Hamdard University was the Guest of Honour for the seminar .

Guest Lecture: Mrs. Prabha Manjari Tiwary, Ex-IPR Executive, Cipla Ltd., had been invited as a Guest Speaker in the Institute of Pharmacy, NIET, where she delivered her speech on “An overview of patent drafting and recent issues in copyright in India” on 13th October, 2012.

A Guest Lecture was organized by EN department on 25TH Oct., 2012. It was deliberated upon by Dr. Sneh Anand, Prof. & Head, IIT Delhi on ‘Bio-medical Engineering & its Applications’ .

Guest lecture was held on 18th October 2012 on Latest trends in Fertilizer Industries delivered by Dr. S. Nand, Dy Director General, Fertilizer Association of India.

Agenda 14.12 To report about student’s co-curricular activities.

The annual technical and sport festival of institute was held on 22nd & 23rd February 2013 .The eagerly awaited cultural and annual festival named as “Faction-2k13” was efficiently organized. The students of NIET had showcased their talents, skills and capabilities.

Motivational Awards : Coupons of worth 85000/- to winners

Every department had conducted its own events like Handicap and Hackathon was organized by CS, IT & MCA Departments. Shoot Circuit and Electrohunt were efficiently organized by the EC and EN departments. Air Glider, Bob-the-Builder and Srijan (Bridge Making) were combined team work of ME and CE department which were very interesting and well coordinated. Chem-E-Car event of Chemical department was very inspiring and entertaining .The Management Department efficiently managed events like Art Mania, Ad-Mad Show & NBSpreneurship to showcase the creativity, imagination, innovation, marketing and entrepreneurship skills of the budding managers .The Pharmacy Department organized significant events like slide making and cosmetic makers that stimulate the imagination and innovation among the students. The most popular events among students were Online Treasure Hunt, Robo War, Robo Rally and Robo Maze .

A friendly corporate cricket match was played between NIET faculty and MyZeal IT soultion Pvt. Ltd. on NIET ground on 9th March 2013. NIET Team won the match.

Abhishek Kalra of B.Tech. (EN) 6th SEM won first prize in ‘Poetry Competition’ held on 22nd-23rd Feb., 2013 during TECHFEST held at NIET.

NIET team won 2nd prize (CASH PRIZE Rs. 2000) under Abhishek Kalra of B.Tech. (EN) 6th SEM for NUKKAD NATAK Competition held at JRE College on 24th Feb., 2013.

The SDC organised One week Skill Development Programme in Summer vacation. 32 candidates from nearby villages participated for training on Computer Literacy.

To maintain the academic standards in the institute, management recruit excellent/ good faculties

member in various departments. The procedure of recruitment is as follows:

Advertisement in the leading news paper is given like Times of India (Ascent).

Short listing process of received resumes are done on the basis of their qualifications, experience and good academic record at the 10th , 12th, UG, PG and Ph. D level. The candidates who have good research experience is given priority/ benefit during selection process.

Short listed candidates are called for interview/demonstration lecture.

Sometimes management may conduct a pre-interview for better filtering of candidates.

For interview, management constituted a selection committee consists of renowned professors from IITs/NITs/Central universities or any other reputed institutes.

Selected candidates in interview is going for demonstration lecture in front of sel ection committee.

During demonstration lecture the candidate is judge on the basis of different parameters.

Agenda 14.20 To report about achievements of Rainbow School.

With the consistent efforts of Sri S.Nagpal presently 62 students are enrolled in Rainbow School.

Three teachers are regularly preparing the students for formal tests to provide passing certificates from CVPS, Meerut.

Agenda 14.21 To report about achievements of IAS Academy.

The Institute started NIETA-CSD at Delhi Cantt Area. The Academy caters to the aspirants for Civil Services to be held in May 2013

Agenda 14.22 To report about achievements of GATE/IES Classes

Twelve students enrolled for GATE/IES classes

The classes are being organised in the evening after 5.00 pm. The experts are hired from outside.

Agenda 14.23 To report about the Medical Facility provided by the Institute.

The Institute has mad up tie up with Yatharth Hospital

The medical bills of students residing in the hostel are being reimbursed on regular basis.

The car and driver is provided 24 x 7 to carry the sick students to hospital.

Agenda 14.24 To report about the achievements of Gravity Gymnasium

The Gravity Gym has matured now. At an average more than 200 boys and 25 girls are attending the Gym facility everyday.

The Institute hereby seek approval from GB members for surrendering the management quota seats to University. So that the admissions should come through counselling only and quality can be ascertained.
