• Goal:

• Students will comprehend an animal fable and discuss the moral relevance.

• Objectives: - Students will read the story (( والسلحفاة األرنب- Students will learn and understand the main idea in

the story.- Students will learn about how to conjugate from

present tense to the past tense. - Students summarize the story and tell it to other

students in the class.- Students will compare and contrast the Rabbit and the

Turtle .

• Level: High beginners, intermediate (stage I, II).• Time Frame: this lesson will be taught in 2weeks• Rubric: teacher designs to measure progress

according to the age and level• Standards: ACTFL

• The story Talks a bout a turtle and a Rabbit, One day a rabbit was bragging about how fast he could run. He was laughing at the turtle for being so slow. The turtle did not like that and challenged him to a race. The rabbit laughed and accepted the challenge. As the race began, the rabbit raced way ahead of the turtle. The rabbit got to the halfway point and could not see the turtle anywhere. He was tired and decided to stop and take a short nap and wake up in a bit. All this time the turtle kept walking step by step by step. He never quit no matter how tired he got. He just kept going. However, the rabbit slept longer than he had thought and woke up. He could not see the turtle anywhere! He went at full-speed to the finish line but found the turtle there waiting for him.

• 1.Pre-Reading Activities- Gallery walk.- See video clip about the story. - Listen to the story.

• 2. Global Activities- Draw a picture of the main character and write 1 adjective- Venn Diagram.- Connect the word to the opposite

• 3. Detail Activities - Fill in the blank. -.answer the question. -Put the story in order

• 4. Linguistic Activities- Find the words in the word search.- Underline the verbs in the paragraph.- Change from present tense to past tense.

• 5. Post-Reading Activities- Act the story to the class.- Write different ending about the story- Make a dialogue folder
