The artists’ overall message in the cartoon:
The dark truth behind smoking effects are shown through a cigarette advertisement in a happy-go-lucky manner. This shows the irony of deception in the tobacco industry.
Carcinogens, deep-down damage, death and over-the-top redeeming attempts mock the use of tobacco and the industry.
COUNTER CLAIM:
The effects of tobacco are well known and clearly outlined. The advertisements sometimes glamorize a horrible product, but it’s the viewers who ignore the dangers and fall into the media.
