ABOUT NGI

The Noble Group of Institutions – Junagadh is meant for imparting knowledge and skill. The

institute is the first of its kind in Saurashtra region, Gujarat state. It is a non-profit organization

dedicated to the cause of social service, knowledge dissemination of youth of the world.

Academia and Industry are embedded in, and reliant upon, the broader context of society.

The main aim of the NGI family is to impart to the students a high quality technical

&scientific knowledge with ethics, so as to serve the society and the mankind with full devotion,

dedication and commitment. It is the dream of the management to take this institute to a greater

height in order to achieve “Centre for Excellence” in teaching learning, research and innovative

activities within and outside the campus.

Design Engineering

GTU introduced courses of Design Engineering through Design Spine, during the academic year

2014-15, beginning from the 3rd

semester. Design Engineering is a very unique and pioneering

initiative of GTU and it is based on “Design Thinking” methodologies developed and used by

engineers and designers all over the globe. One of the key objectives of this initiative is to infuse

the methodology of Design Thinking into the mind-set of the students and the Faculty Members

so that it is used in the study of all the core subjects of every branch. Other main objectives

include; To stimulus thought process and creativity among the students, To learn problem-

solving techniques, To lessen the copy-pasting in the Project work etc.

Prototyping – As a Part of Design Engineering

A prototype is an operating version of a solution. It is often made with different materials

(cheaper and easier to work with) than the final version. This step is essential for Design

Engineering Process. This will help students to implement future version their product.

Exhibition is organized for prototypes developed by 5th

sem engineering students. These

prototypes are means to enhance the future idea regarding the product implementation.

Exhibition is organized for all Engineering Students of different branches who are concerned

with Design Engineering Subject. Principal Sir, Heads of all Department, faculty members of

NGI and around 800 students have visited this exhibition.




Judges for Evaluation

There are four judges from different branches of engineering for evaluation of prototype model.

Evaluation was done basis on some criteria like Objective, Understanding, Presentation Skill,

Innovation and Design Prototype.
