I LOVE GOD

My Lord God Jesus, I do love Thee with all my heart, and all my soul, and all my mind, and all my strength, always and forever. Thou hast been my friend, companion, and saviour: I couldn’t ask for more from Thee, The Immortal All-Powerful God. Thou art a boundless source of inspiration in all my endeavours, especially in my writings, which is not surprising given that the same applies to the KJV 1611 of The Holy Bible (II Tim. 3:16 “All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, & is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness,”), although I am in no way comparing my scribblings with this, Thy masterpiece of the ages. Thy goodness is endless, as signified by Thy unceasing Benevolence. In demonstration of this, Thou hast forgiven me for indiscretions against Thee and against Christianity on so many occasions that I have lost count, and for this I am eternally grateful and indebted to Thee. I am constantly amazed and moved by Thy munificence towards me, and wish only to somehow begin to repay you by devoting a major portion of my remaining life toward publicly building respect for Thee and Christianity. Thee intervened in my life at a point where I thought all was lost. That with all the other memories of Thee makes me love Thee all the more. Of course, Thou art love (I John 4:16, I John 4:8), and, if one can love, how can one not help but love love and therefore Thee? Saint Augustine of Hippo in his brilliant work Confessions (AD 357) devoted this entire book of his to building respect for Thee and invigorating Christianity, and singlehandedly succeeded! If I were able to accomplish only 1/10,000 of this, I would be most happy. I was intrigued by the possibility of Thy existence at a very early age. I had several suggestive very interesting dreams. I tried to prove Thy existence. I looked for signs that others may have succeeded in doing that. How can one take in the wonder of a child at Thy existence, and not then because of this also likewise wonder? How can one take in the beauty of a stunningly gorgeous orchid, and not ponder believing in Thee? I have photographed hundreds of pictures of blossoms, flowers, etc., and am always astounded at the tremendous varieties. How could one attribute this only to “natural phenomena” alone? Surely Thy Hand is present; surely one has reason to believe; surely the beauty is all the more reason to elicit love for Thee. As one example of a personal experience I have which confirms Thy existence to me, Thou helps me pick inspirational verses from The Bible. These are helpful in strengthening, as is stated in Galatians 5:22-23 22: “But the fruit of the spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,” 23: “meekness, temperance...”. These are some of the best signs of a Christian. The Son of The LORD our God JEHOVAH, the Lord God Jesus, saved me by showing me inspirational verses from The Bible: I John 5:11 “And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.” Romans 10:9 “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart, that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.” I Peter 5:14 “Greet ye one another with a kiss of charity: Peace be with you all that are in Christ Jesus. Amen.” James 1:17 states “Every good gift, and every perfect gift is from above, & commeth down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.” Is Jesus somehow responsible for evil in this world? No. It is man’s free will, and/or the epitomes of evil (one of which is well-known) clashing against God’s good Will, which distort God’s good works. The most famous examples of this were Adam and Eve in The Garden of Eden. The evil distorting God’s good works was the devil in the form of the snake. He corrupted Adam and Eve’s blessed existence.

Here is another example, although nowhere near that degree of importance. Countless times in my life, the devil attacked me and attempted to permanently corrupt me (from my being a Christian). Only Thy intervention saved me from eternal damnation and this is another reason why I do always love you. The Lord God, through His Son The Lord God Jesus, granted me eternal life and salvation, by seeing through the devil’s deception to make it appear that I was entirely responsible for the evil in my life. For this, Jesus and God hath my undying gratitude and eternal love. Jesus and God are one and the same (I John 5:7). Thus, when I write of my love for The Father (God, Jehovah), The Son (Jesus, The Word), and the Holy Ghost (the Comforter), I write of my love for God (I John 5:7). Therefore, I do my best to observe the following: Deuteronomie 5:6-7 6: “I am the LORD thy God, which brought thee out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage.” 7: “Thou shalt have none other gods before me.” I Peter 1:2 “Elect, according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, through sanctification of the Spirit unto obedience, and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ: Grace unto you and peace be multiplied.” John 15:14 Jesus: “Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever as I command you.” Ephesians 6:7 “With good will doing service, as to the Lord, and not to men,” Hebrews 13:21 “Make you perfect in every good work to do his will, working in you that which is well pleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.” II Peter 2:9 “The Lord knoweth how to deliver the godly out of temptations, and to reserve the unjust unto the day of judgment to be punished:” Titus 1:2 “In hope of eternal life, which God that cannot lie, promised before the world began:” On the cover of this book, in the four corners of the sunrise is a pictograph resembling “Love God.” The Lord God Jesus Christ helped me design this. Please note the cross in the centre of the “O.” This pictograph is meant to depict artistically one word. The actual meaning I have assigned to this is, “Love The One True Almighty Lord God” a suggestion of God’s. The exquisite degree of God’s help in assembling this personal exhibition of God’s intervention causes me to love God all the more, and to want to sing God’s praises! I John 5:20 “And we know that the Son of God is come, and hath given us an understanding that we may know him that is true: and we are in him that is true, even in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life.” I John 4:16 “And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love, and he that dwelleth in love, dwelleth in God, and God in him.” Other signs of God’s Presence: man’s humanity to man, a family’s love for each other, the innocence of newborn babies—all these and much more are indications of God’s supreme manifestation: love. It’s because of this (and all of the above) that I love God dearly, always, and forever. It’s a saying of mine: “once you’re with God, you’re always with God.” As it is written in Hebrews 10:10 “By the which will we are sanctified, through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.” (The latter can be defined as being freed from sin forever, or in other words, salvation.) Phrasing this a little differently: “once you’re with Love, you’re always with Love” and who could argue against this? I know whose side I’m on: God’s. I love The One True God who is love, only and forever. Amazing Grace Lyrics Amazing Grace, how sweet the sound, That saved a wretch like me.... I once was lost but now am found, Was blind, but now, can see. T'was Grace that taught... my heart to fear. And Grace, my fears relieved.

How precious did that Grace appear... the hour I first believed. Through many dangers, toils and snares... I have already come. T'is Grace that brought me safe thus far... and Grace will bring me home. The Lord has promised good to me... His word my hope secures. He will my shield and portion be... as long as life endures. Yea, when this flesh and heart shall fail, and mortal life shall cease, I shall possess within the veil, a life of joy and peace. When we've been here ten thousand years... bright shining as the sun. We've no less days to sing God's praise... then when we've first begun.

CHAPTER 2

Why Love God?

There is a book with this quotation in it: 1. “Hatred stirs up strifes: but love covers all sins.”

Now suppose that book opened with this quotation: 2. “In the beginning God created the

Heaven, and the Earth.” Furthermore: 3. “And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.

And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness. And God

called the light, Day, and the darkness he called Night: and the evening and the morning were

the first day.”

Who or what is this supremely powerful being—God—so powerful that he apparently created

the universe? Here’s another quotation: 4. “And we have known and believed the love that God

hath to us. God is love, and he that dwelleth in love, dwelleth in God, and God in him. Herein is

our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of Judgment, because as he is, so

are we in this world. There is no fear in love, but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath

torment: he that feareth, is not made perfect in love. We love him: because he first loved us.”

Please note in quotation 4: “God is love...”. Would you not agree that love is the most influential

and powerful impetus among mankind? If it weren’t for love, then in all likelihood Earth and/or

mankind would be destroyed by now. Doesn’t it make sense that if there is one All-powerful

Supreme Being, then He would be “perfect love” (4.)? Two synonyms for “perfect” are

“absolute” and “supreme.” God’s love is perfect, because mankind’s love is perfected from

God’s (4).

What is the book? It’s called The Holy Bible, and it is divided into two sections, the Old

Testament (OT) and the New Testament (NT), which in turn comprise Books, Chapters, and

Verses, called Scriptures. (Scripture references not marked (OT) are from the New Testament.

The New Testament is the second part of The Bible, and is about the life of Jesus Christ, God’s

Son, the Saviour of mankind.)

The aforementioned quotations are: 1. Proverbs 10:12 (OT); 2. Genesis 1:1 (OT);

3. Genesis 1:3-5 (OT); 4. I John 4:16-19.

Here are more verses:

II Timothie 3:16 “All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, & is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness,” Proverbs 30:5 (OT) “Every word of God is pure: he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him.” James 1:17 “Every good gift, and every perfect gift is from above, & commeth down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.” Romans 8:28 “And we know that all things work together for good, to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.” Titus 1:2 “In hope of eternal life, which God that cannot lie, promised before the world began:”

From these we determine that The Bible was given to us by God, that every word of God is pure,

that God coordinates for love and goodness, and that God always tells the truth.

Belatedly, more proof that God exists can be found in the first instance in The Bible in which

God gives his name.

Exodus 3:13-14 (OT) 13: “And Moses said unto God, Behold, when I come unto the children of Israel, and shall say unto them, The God of your fathers hath sent me unto you; and they shall say to me, What is his name? What shall I say unto them?” 14: “And God said unto Moses, I AM THAT I AM: And he said, thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, I AM hath sent me unto you.” John 4:24 “God is a Spirit, and they that worship him, must worship him in spirit, and in truth.” Ephesians 5:27 “That he might present it to himself a glorious Church, not having spot or wrinkle, or any such thing: but that it should be holy and without blemish.” I Corinthians 12:3-4 3: “Wherefore I give you to understand, that no man speaking by the spirit of God, calleth Jesus accursed: and that no man can say that Jesus is the Lord, but by the holy Ghost.” 4: “Now there are diversities of gifts, but the same spirit.” I Corinthians 6:19-20 19: “What, know ye not that your body is the Temple of the holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?” 20: “For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are Gods.” Ephesians 4:30 “And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption.” I Corinthians 2:13 “Which things also we speak, not in the words which mans wisdom teacheth, but which the holy Ghost teacheth, comparing spiritual things with spiritual.” Romans 8:14-16 14: “For as many as are led by the spirit of God, they are the sons of God.” 15: “For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear: but ye have received the spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, father.” 16: “The spirit it self beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God.” Please note that “Abba” is Aramaic for “father,” here meaning God. Please note also the

similarity to God’s name given in Exodus 3:14, I AM THAT I AM. The idea of the name

being self-defining (explained later) here repeats in a different format, again suggesting the

nature of God as having no beginning or end—in other words, infinite. In the last book of The

Bible, Revelation—a record of a prophecy by the Apostle John—God says He is the Beginning

and the End four times; declaring that he is past, present, and future, all at the same time.

II Corinthians 13:14 “The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the holy Ghost, be with you all. Amen.” I John 5:7 “For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the holy Ghost: and these three are one.” Genesis 1:2-3 (OT) 2: “And the earth was without form, and void, and darkness was upon the face of the deep: and the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.” 3: “And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.” Genesis 1:26 “And God said, Let us make man in our Image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the foul of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.” Note the instances of usage of “us” and “our.” God speaks of Jesus and the holy Spirit of God,

who is the same as the holy Ghost (I Corinthians 12:3-4 from above). The holy Ghost

communicates to God the accounts of our spirits (e.g., for purposes of decisions regarding

salvation: Romans 8:14-16, Ephesians 4:30, I Corinthians 6:19-20, I Corinthians 2:13,

II Corinthians 13:14, Ephesians 5:27 from above).

John 1:1 “In the beginning was the Word, & the Word was with God, and the Word was God.” Hebrews 13:8 “Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.” I John 5:7 “For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the holy Ghost: and these three are one.” The Spirit of God (the holy Ghost) is always with God, just as Jesus (God’s Son) is also always

with God. This first instance in The Bible of God’s name (Exodus 3:14 from above) connotes

eternality. As I’ve already stated, I postulate that since God’s name is structured as self-

defining, it is representative of the nature of God: Therefore, He has no beginning or end. (For

who named God? He gave Himself his Name, of course.) This discussion of the existence of

God is meant to lead to some kind of verification; with certitude, I pray. Descartes’ “I think,

therefore I am.” comes to mind. The actual question posed here is “Prove one’s own existence.”

But is this possible? Shouldn’t this question be framed in a larger sense? In other words,

“Something thinks, therefore something exists.” What would this “something” be? I imagine it

would have to be capable of thought so powerful that our very existences are by it affirmed. I

can only picture one entity thus capable.

I Corinthians 4:20 “For the kingdom of God is not in word, but in power.” We know from The Bible (Genesis 1:26 from above) that we have been created by pure thought

once already, at least in the beginning. How do we know that this isn’t an ongoing process? That

to some or all degree we are created in thought by God? Isn’t prayer and its response one

indication of this?

Romans 11:33-34 33: “O the depth of riches both of wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are his judgements, and his ways past finding out!” 34: “For who hath known the mind of the Lord, or who hath been his counseller?” I John 4:12 “No man has seen God at any time. If we love one another, God dwelleth in us, and his love is perfected in us.” How do we know God is The All-powerful Supreme Being? Please consider the following

verses:

Ephesians 4:6 “One God and Father of all, who is above all, & through all, & in you all.” Luke 1:37 “For with God no thing shall be impossible.” I Corinthians 4:20 “For the kingdom of God is not in word, but in power.” Deuteronomie 5:6-7 (OT) 6: “I am the LORD thy God, which brought thee out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage.” 7: “Thou shalt have none other gods before me.” Please look again at quotation 1. Proverbs 10:12 (OT). “Hatred” is an act of evil. Is God—being

All-powerful—somehow responsible for these types of acts? Please consider these verses:

James 1:13 “Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man.” James 1:17 “Every good gift, and every perfect gift is from above, & commeth down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.” God—being Perfect Love—can only do good. Evil distorts God’s good works. Evil results

either from mankind having God-given free will...

Genesis 1:27 (OT) “So God created man in his own Image, in the Image of God created he him; male and female created he them.” I Corinthians 3:16 “Know ye not that ye are the Temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?” I Corinthians 12:3-4 3: “Wherefore I give you to understand, that no man speaking by the spirit of God, calleth Jesus accursed: and that no man can say that Jesus is the Lord, but by the holy Ghost.” 4: “Now there are diversities of gifts, but the same spirit.” John 4:24 “God is a Spirit, and they that worship him, must worship him in spirit, and truth.” II Corinthians 3:17-18 17: “Now the Lord is that spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is libertie.” 18: “But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image, from glory to glory, even as by the spirit of the Lord.” ...or from God’s primary adversary, the devil. In addition to mankind having the ability to

choose between good and evil, the devil attempts to corrupt mankind whenever possible, and to

corrupt God’s good works.

I Peter 5:8 “Be sober, vigilant: because your adversary the devil, as a roaring Lion walketh about, seeking whom he may devour.” “Devour” is a metaphor for “destroy” or “corrupt.” John 8:44 Jesus: “Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do: he was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.” Ephesians 6:11 “Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.”

Luke 12:5 Jesus: “But I forewarn you whom you shall fear: Fear him, which after he hath killed, hath power to cast into hell, yea, I say unto you, Fear him.” Please recall the first quotation. “Hatred” is an example of evil, and is also a wile of the devil.

(The definition of wile: a trick to deceive.)

I John 3:15 “Whosoever hateth his brother, is a murderer, and ye know that no murderer hath eternal life abiding in him.” However: I Peter 4:8 “And above all things have fervent charity among your selves: for charity shall cover the multitude of sins.” I Corinthians 13:13 “And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three, but the greatest of these is charity.” Agapē (from Greek) is the word from which “charity” comes. It means (feast of) charity, dear,

love. It derives from agapaō (from Greek): to love (in a social or moral sense). It “[embraces]

the deliberate assent of the will as a matter of principle, duty and propriety...”

So, whose is the greatest love of all? (Please recall I John 4:16-19.) God’s perfect and pure love

is. How does God fight against sin and evil, and in particular, against the devil? Before

answering this, let us digress for a while.

John 3:16-17 16: “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son: that whosoever believeth in him, should not perish, but have everlasting life.” 17: “For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world: but that the world through him might be saved.” I Peter 1:3-5 3: “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy, hath begotten us again unto a lively hope, by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,”

4: “To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you,” 5: “Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation, ready to be revealed in the last time.” I John 4:10 “Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.” Propitiation: win or regain someone’s favour; in this case, God’s. Romans 5:8 “But God commended his love towards us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” Jesus—God’s Son, while mortal—was crucified, an excruciatingly painful death. His “crime”? John 19:7 “The Jews answered, We have a law, and by our law he ought to die, because he made himself the Son of God.” During the crucifixion: Luke 23:44-45 44: “And it was about the first hour, and there was a darkness over all the earth, until the ninth hour.” 45: “And the Sun was darkened, and the vail of the temple was rent in the midst.” John 19:30 “When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, It is finished, and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost.” What does the ultimate sacrifice of Jesus mean? Salvation unto eternal life. I John 5:11 “And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.” I Peter 1:2 “Elect, according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, through sanctification of the Spirit unto obedience, and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ: Grace unto you and peace be multiplied.” II Thessalonians 2:13-14 13: “But we are bound to give thanks always to God, for you, brethren, beloved of the Lord, because God hath from the beginning chosen you to salvation, through sanctification of the spirit, and belief of the truth,” 14: “Whereunto he called you by our Gospel, to the obtaining of the glory of the Lord Jesus Christ.”

John 14:6 Jesus: “I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life: no man commeth unto the Father but by me.” I Peter 1:25 “But the word of the Lord endureth for ever: & this is the word which by the Gospel is preached unto you.” Sanctification of the Spirit from sins means salvation, of which the astonishing result is

everlasting life (please recall John 3:16-17). This is achieved by our belief—faith—in God’s

Son, the Lord Jesus Christ, and to believe in—and obey—the Lord God Jehovah.

Romans 12:1-2 1: “I Beseech you therefore brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.” 2: “And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, that acceptable and perfect will of God.” However, we also have to work diligently to be strong in, to be steadfast in, and to strengthen

our faith in Jesus, and likewise our belief in—and obedience to—God. To learn from Christ’s

teachings as best as possible means we strive to become true Christians.

I Timothy 6:11-12 11: “But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness.” 12: “Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses.” I Thessalonians 5:9-10 9: “For God hath not appointed us to wrath: but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ,” 10: “Who died for us, that whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with him.” Here is one path to salvation: Romans 10:9 “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart, that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.” To “confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus” means to say aloud, “Jesus is Lord,” particularly in

a Church. A prayer here is appropriate:

I Peter 5:14 “Greet ye one another with a kiss of charity: Peace be with you all that are in Christ Jesus. Amen.” Now let’s return from the digression. Of course, since Jesus is the Son of God, the devil was—

and is—his adversary, also.

Luke 4:1-4 1: “And Jesus being full of the holy Ghost, returned from Jordan, and was led by the spirit into the wilderness.” 2: “Being forty days tempted of the devil, and in those days he did eat nothing: and when they were ended, he afterward hungered.” 3: “And the devil said unto him, If thou be the Son of God, command this stone that it be made bread.” 4: “And Jesus answered him, saying, It is written, that man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God.” So, how do God and Jesus fight the devil (I Peter 5:8, John 8:44, Ephesians 6:11, Luke 12:5

from above)?

What are some examples of sins? Ephesians 5:3-5 3: “But fornication and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it not be once named amongst you, as becometh Saints:” 4: “Neither filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor jesting, which are not convenient: but rather giving of thanks.” 5: “For this ye know, that no whoremonger, nor unclean person, nor covetous man who is an idolater, hath any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ, and of God.” Other examples of sins: I Corinthians 6:9-10 9: “Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Galatians 5:5-6 5: “For we through the spirit wait for the hope of righteousness through faith.” 6: “For in Jesus Christ, neither circumcision availeth anything, nor uncircumcision, but faith which worketh by love.” An added gift of the Lord Jesus Christ is that Christians, too, are able to fight the devil: James 4:7 “Submit your selves therefore to God: resist the devil, and he will flee from you.” From The NIV Life Application Study Bible, 2005, p. 2092: The fight between good and evil—God and Satan—has already been decided: God has already won (according to the last Book of The Bible: Revelation, a record of a prophecy given by God to the Apostle John). “Satan is here now, however, and he is trying to win us over to his evil cause. With the Holy Spirit’s power, we can resist the devil, and he will flee from us.” I Peter 5:8-11 8: “Be sober, be vigilant: because your adversary the devil, as a roaring Lion walketh about, seeking whom he may devour.” [please see p.5 for an explanation of evil as a distortion of God’s good works] 9: “Whom resist steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflications are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world.” 10: “But the God of all grace who hath called us into his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen you, settle you.” 11: “To him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.” The previous verses not only state that faith in Christ is another way to fight the devil (in

addition to resisting him), but also that faith in Christ will save you.

Another gift from God and Jesus is that you can pray to them, either to please, praise, or to

worship them, or to ask for guidance or help.

Matthew 7:7 Jesus: “Ask, and it shall be given you: seek, and ye shall find: knock, and it shall be opened unto you.” Mark 11:24 Jesus: “Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.”

Here are ten prayers: Matthew 6:9-13 [The Lord’s Prayer.] Jesus: 9: “After this manner therefore pray ye: Our father which art in heaven, hallowed be thy name.” 10: “Thy kingdom come. The following verses are excellent for saying grace before or after eating: John 6:51,54 Jesus: 51: “I am the living bread, which came down from heaven. If any man eat of this bread, he shall live for ever: and the bread that I will give, is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world.” 54: “Whoso eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, hath eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day.” That God is perfect love proves his Purity. Here is a different perception of God which also

proves this:

I John 1:5-7 5: “This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.” 6: “If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth.” 7: “But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.” The same is true of Jesus: John 8:12 Jesus: “Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me, shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.” John 12:46 Jesus: “I am come a light into the world, that whosoever believeth on me, should not abide in darkness.” As light is pure, so also are God and Jesus. (Please note that light was one of the first things that

God created, when he created the universe.)

With regards to God, Jesus and love: Jesus unified the Old Law and His Law: Ephesians 2:15 “Having abolished in his flesh, even the Law of Commandments contained in Ordinances, for to make in himself, of twain, one new man, so making peace.”

The following verses mean that one can be saved through Jesus Christ: Ephesians 2:4-8 4: “But God who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us,” 5: “Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace are ye saved)” 6: “And hath raised us up together, and made us fit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:” 7: “That in the ages to come, he might show the exceeding riches of his grace, in his kindness towards us, through Christ Jesus.” 8: “For by grace are ye saved, through faith, and that not of your selves: it is the gift of God:” I Peter 1:3 “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy, hath begotten to us again unto a lively hope, by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,” Acts 26:18 “To open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that is in me.” These verses speak to the love between God, the Father, and Jesus, His Son: John 3:35 “The Father loveth the Son, and hath given all things into his hand.” John 14:31 Jesus: “But the world may know that I love the Father: and as the Father gave me commandment, even so I do: Arise, let us go hence.” Jesus on loving God and on loving your neighbour. Note that loving God is first. Mark 12:30-31 Jesus: 30: “And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: This is the first commandment.” 31: “And the second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thy self: there is none other commandment greater than these.” Jesus on love and hate: Matthew 5:43-44 Jesus: 43: “Ye have heard, that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour, and hate thine enemie: 44: “But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you:”

On Jesus being God: John 10:30 Jesus: “I and my father are one.” I John 5:20 After Jesus was resurrected: “And we know that the Son of God is come, and hath given to us an understanding that we may know him that is true: and we are in him that is true, even in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life.” Jesus, on love and sacrifice: John 15:12-14 Jesus: 12: “This is my Commandment, that ye love one another, as I have loved you.” 13: “Greater love hath no man then this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.” 14: “Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you.” (N.B. “friend” probably derives from philĕō (from Greek) meaning “love.” Please note the significance of Jesus Christ’s love, just as God is love.) Ephesians 5:2 “And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet smelling savour;” (One meaning of “savour” is “love.”) Christ’s self-sacrifice to make available to mankind

salvation was the ultimate act of mercy: a key example to all Christians (please also recall from

above John 15:13.)

Matthew 5:7 Jesus: “Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy.” This, one of the first statements Jesus made in His Sermon on the Mount: a blessing for the merciful. Jesus on God’s love; in particular, redemption for sinners: Luke 15:4-10 Jesus: 4: “What man of you having an hundred sheep, if he lose one of them, doth not leave the ninety and the nine in the wilderness, and go after that which is lost, until he find it?” 5: “And when he hath found it, he layeth it on his shoulders, rejoicing.” 6: “And when he commeth home, he calleth together his friends, and neighbours, saying unto them, Rejoice with me, for I have found my sheep which was lost.”

I Peter 2:21-22 21: “For even hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps.” 22: “Who did no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth.” John 14:21-23 Jesus: 21: “He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.” 22: “Judas said unto him, not Iscariot, Lord, how is it that thou wilt manifest thy self unto us, and not unto the world?” 23: “Jesus answered, and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him.” All of these answers provide enough reasons to love God. And yet:

I John 4:12 “No man has seen God at any time. If we love one another, God dwelleth in us, and his love is perfected in us.”

However:

CHAPTER 3

Is The Word Jesus?

There is only one LORD God and Almighty Father:

Ephesians 4:6 “One God and Father of all, who is above all, & through all, & in you all.” Deuteronomie 5:6-7 (OT) 6: “I am the LORD thy God, which brought thee out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage.” 7: “Thou shalt have none other gods before me.”

Who is The God? The Lord God is love (please see Chapter 2 for a detailed explanation).

I John 4:16 “And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love, and he that dwelleth in love, dwelleth in God, and God in him.”

In the following verses, please note how “begotten” repeats in John 3:16 and in John 1:14. As

well, “Word” repeats in John 1:1 and in John 1:14. There are similarities between John 1:14 and

I Timothie 3:16. They can’t be accidental: These juxtapositions were meant to be noticed by

Christians, to show that The Word is Jesus.

John 1:1 “In the beginning was the Word, & the Word was with God, and the Word was God.” John 3:16-17 16: “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son: that whosoever believeth in him, should not perish, but have everlasting life.” 17: “For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world: but that the world through him might be saved.”

Matthew 28:19 After Jesus was resurrected: “Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the holy Ghost.” I John 5:7 “For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the holy Ghost: and these three are one.”

CHAPTER 4

Who Are The Trinity?

How to reconcile the following two apparently contradictory verses?

John 5:22 Jesus: “For the Father judgeth no man: but hath committed all judgment unto the Son:” John 5:30 Jesus: “I can of mine own self do nothing: as I hear, I judge: and my judgment is just, because I seek not mine own will, but the will of the Father, which hath sent me.” One might start by understanding that God not only comprises The Father, Jehovah, and The Son, Jesus, but also The Holy Ghost: I John 5:7 “For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the holy Ghost: and these three are one.” Who is The Holy Ghost? I Corinthians 12:3-4 3: “Wherefore I give you to understand, that no man speaking by the spirit of God, calleth Jesus accursed: and that no man can say that Jesus is the Lord, but by the holy Ghost.” 4: “Now there are diversities of gifts, but the same spirit.” John 4:24 Jesus: “God is a Spirit, and they that worship him, must worship him in spirit, and in truth.” One might answer the question at the beginning of this chapter by postulating that The Holy

Ghost has a say—perhaps even mediating—in spiritual questions between Jehovah and Jesus;

spiritual questions such as any pertaining to salvation. Why might one say that?

Romans 5:5-6 5: “And hope maketh not ashamed, because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts, by the holy Ghost, which is given unto us.” 6: “For when we were yet without strength, in due time, Christ died for the ungodly.”

Romans 8:14-16 14: “For as many as are led by the spirit of God, they are the sons of God.” 15: “For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear: but ye have received the spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, father.” 16: “The spirit it self beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God.” I Corinthians 2:13 “Which things also we speak, not in the words which mans wisdom teacheth, but which the holy Ghost teacheth, comparing spiritual things with spiritual.” I Corinthians 3:16 “Know ye not that ye are the Temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?” John 14:16-17,26 Jesus: 16: “And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever,” 17: “Even the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him, for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.” 26: “But the Comforter, which is the holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, & bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.” John 15:26 Jesus: “But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of me.” I Peter 1:12 “Unto whom it was revealed, that not unto themselves, but unto us, they did minister the things which are now reported unto you, by them that have preached the Gospel unto you, with the holy Ghost sent down from heaven, which things the Angels desire to look into.” I Corinthians 6:19-20 19: “What, know ye not that your body is the Temple of the holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?” 20: “For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are Gods.” Ephesians 4:30 “And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption.” Ephesians 1:3,11-14 3: “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ:” 11: “In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will:” 12: “That we should be to the praise of his glory, who first trusted in Christ.” 13: “In whom ye are also trusted after that ye heard the word of truth, the Gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,” 14: “Which is the earnest of our inheritance, until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory.”

From The NIV Life Application Study Bible, 2005, p.1976: “The presence of the Holy Spirit in

us demonstrates the genuineness of our faith, proves that we are God’s children, and secures

eternal life for us.” The Holy Spirit definitely is involved in questions of salvation, and this

resolves the apparent contradiction posed at the beginning of this chapter.

Extremely important – please note! (Remember, The Holy Ghost is also God, I John 5:7.) How Satan Corrupts

Satan—the primary epitome of evil to God and to mankind—can only sin. He cannot be trusted: He steals: Luke 8:11-12 Jesus: 11: “And the parable is this: The seed is the word of God.” 12: “Those by the way side, are they that hear: then commeth the devil, and taketh away the word out of their hearts, lest they should believe, and be saved.” II Corinthians 4:4 “In whom the God of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious Gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.” He murders and lies: John 8:44 Jesus: “Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do: he was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. Satan destroys and corrupts: I Peter 5:8 “Be sober, be vigilant: because your adversary the devil, as a roaring Lion walketh about, seeking whom he may devour.” Any evil destroys and corrupts: II Peter 2:15 “Which have forsaken the right way, and are gone astray, following the way of Balaam the son of Bosor, who loved the wages of unrighteousness,” Satan kills and casts into hell: Luke 12:5 Jesus: “But I will forewarn you whom you shall fear: Fear him, which after he hath killed, hath power to cast into hell, yea, I say unto you, Fear him.” Satan enslaves through fear of death: Hebrews 2:14-15 14: “Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also likewise took part of the same, that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil:” 15: “And deliver them, who through fear of death were all their life time subject to bondage.” Four other ways that Satan enslaves: 1) tries to get us to doubt the word of God—i.e., Scriptures; e.g., the deception of Eve 2) tries to distract us by materialism—no time left for spiritual things; i.e., reading the Bible, prayer 3) tries to disable us in the Lord’s service—i.e., sin: harass through lowering self-esteem, “You’re not a Christian.” 4) tries to destroy us—i.e., alcohol, etc. By his actions, Satan has demonstrated that he cannot be trusted. He certainly will not make clear that eternal damnation is the consequence of entering into a contract with him, no matter what else he has promised. If the person entering into such a contract is unaware of that consequence, then the contract is invalid. Therefore, such people who have made these contracts can renounce Satan and are free to seek propitiation for their sins and likewise salvation unto eternal life by having faith in the Lord God Jesus Christ, and praying only to Jesus.

What is eternal damnation? It is being “cast into hell” (Luke 12:5 from above) where one remains forever. Please consider these three verses: Zechariah 9:11 (OT) “As for thee also, by the blood of the Covenant, I have sent forth thy prisoners out of the pit, wherein is no water.” Mark 9:43 Jesus: “And if thy hand offend thee, cut it off: It is better for thee to enter into life maimed, then having two hands, to go into hell, into the fire that never shall be quenched.” Matthew 25:41 Jesus: “Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels.” So, here’s what we know about eternal damnation: no water, eternal fire, and obviously, no air since fire requires oxygen to burn. The following verses show that Satan is likened unto a god, hence his powers: Luke 4:6 “And the devil said unto him, All this power will I give thee, and the glory of them; for that is delivered unto me, & to whosoever I will, I give it.” II Corinthians 11:14 “And no marvel, for Satan himself is transformed into an Angel of light.” Luke 10:18 Jesus: “And he said unto them, I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven.” II Peter 2:4 “For if God spared not the Angels that sinned, but cast them down to hell, and delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved unto judgment:” The LORD God JEHOVAH has the final say: Deuteronomie 5:6-7 6: “I am the LORD thy God, which brought thee out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage.” 7: “Thou shalt have none other gods before me.” So, also, does His Son, the Lord God Jesus Christ: I John 4:8 “He that loveth not, knoweth not God: for God is love.”

CHAPTER 9

Who Is God?

There are many arguments postulating the existence of God. Since God is omniscient,

omnipresent, and omnipotent, doesn’t it make sense that all such arguments are true?

By definition, God—the All-powerful, Supreme Being—is infinite. Since the immediate grasp

of the concept of God is equivalent to comparing the finite with the infinite, only something

such as the sum of all proofs of existence could begin to come near to being a proof of God’s

existence. Why is such a proof necessary?

The answer starts with the fact that mankind’s innate goodness is imperfect, simply because

human beings are likewise imperfect. Love is the epitome—the pinnacle, as it were—of man’s

innate goodness. God is perfect love, and because of that, His Presence perfects man’s love, to

the point where it is able to overcome evil or influences of evil. God is the last bastion of

defense preventing evil from overrunning the world. Christianity—established once and for all

by the teachings of Jesus Christ, God’s Son—is His way of perfecting mankind’s love, and thus

combatting evil. Were it not for such an infusion of morality into mankind’s Weltanschauung, it

is unlikely that man would have survived himself up to the 21st century. (Think of what might

have happened if the World Wars had gone out of control.)

Evil has the effect of promoting immorality; put another way, of promoting imperfection.

Attempts to disprove God’s existence abandon man to his own devices (or perhaps vices). The

end result of such thinking most likely would culminate in man’s self-destruction. Therefore, the

necessity exists to refute not just one, but all such assertions that God doesn’t exist by

countering with a unification of all assertions that God does exist, even though such a claim is

not at the point of certitude—not certain, true, yet convincing.

Another way is by asking God, in any way possible (preferably through prayer) and listen

carefully, mentally, for His answer.

Matthew 7:7 Jesus: “Ask, and it shall be given you: seek, and ye shall find: knock, and it shall be opened unto you.” Matthew 21:22 Jesus: “And all things whosoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive.” From NIV Life Application Study Bible, 2005, p.1544, Mt. 7:7-8: “Jesus tells us to persist in pursuing God. People often give up after a few halfhearted attempts and conclude that God cannot be found. But knowing God takes faith, focus, and follow-through, and Jesus assures us that we will be rewarded. Don’t give up in your efforts seek God. Continue to ask him for more knowledge, patience, wisdom, love, and understanding. He will give them to you.” If He answers, He exists. If He doesn’t, keep trying. The latter could take several years.

I John 5:14 “And this is the confidence we have in him, that if we ask anything according to his will, he heareth us.” John 9:31 Jesus: “Now we know that God heareth not sinners: but if any man be a worshipper of God, him he heareth.”

One point I cannot stress enough is that, when praying, please be respectful of God. He is much

more likely to respond if one is, for example, extremely polite in their prayers. God appreciates

respect as much as He appreciates the desire to worship, to please, to praise, to serve, to obey,

and to express one’s love for Him. One is much more likely to receive guidance or help, or

whatever the request might be for (as long as it is according to his will, as per I John 5:14 from

above).

Mount, is the most effective in praying to God.

Who Is Jesus?

Jesus—also referred to as The Word—is the Son of God. Like The Holy Spirit, also known as

The Holy Ghost or The Spirit of God, He has always been with God. He is God.

John 1:1 “In the beginning was the Word, & the Word was with God, and the Word was God.” I Peter 1:3-5 3: “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy, hath begotten us again unto a lively hope, by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,” I John 5:20 Jesus after His resurrection: “And we know that the Son of God is come, and hath given to us an understanding that we may know him that is true: and we are in him that is true, even in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life.” Jesus on Earth was God making Himself mortal. God did this so that mankind could be saved

and have eternal life, through His Son, Jesus Christ.

One of the best and strongest messengers from thy LORD in Heaven, Gabriel The Archangel, is tasked with announcing on earth the Birth of The CHRIST, our Messiah, Jesus. A delicate matter first broached to His earthly Mother and Father, Mary and Joseph: Immaculate Conception (Luke 1:26-35). Said Gabriel to Mary: Fear not, you are favoured with The LORD thy God. By The Spirit of God a son shall be born to you and Joseph. His Name shall be called Jesus. He shall be called The Son of God. Mary said, “My soul doth magnify The LORD.” Bethleham, Birthplace of The Saviour of mankind: celebrate His arrival!

Only one of the best and strongest Angels in Heaven, Gabriel The Archangel, could do as The LORD thy God asked and bring to earth the message of the Birth of His Son, The Messiah. The truth is within reach of each of us.
