    HYDROCARBON RECOVERY

    HCR Features:

Cost effective method to reclaim valuable assets. Reclaim up to 95% of Hydrocarbons in Sludge. Reduces out-of-service time for cleaning,

inspections, repairs, and maintenance. Simultaneously cleans tank and floating roof. Assets are reclaimed versus hazardous waste

disposal expenses. Reduces environmental liability and operational

    risks.

Liability Reduction: Environmental liabilities are significantly

reduced. Sludge remains within tank No tank entry required (unless

repairs or inspection are required) No inorganic or organic chlorides

    HYDROCARBON RECOVERY

Estimated Costs: • Determined on a case-by-case basis

    • Tank Capacity • Tank Bottom Volume • API Assay of Sludge

    • Typical treatment cost • Value of the recovered asset will more than offset the cost of cleaning

    Proven Results:

    • HCR has been used to treat and recover assets from over 250 tanks resulting in reclamation of several million barrels of crude oil for the following companies:

    • Sunoco • Plains All American • Oxy • Teppco • Shell

    HYDROCARBON RECOVERY

Procedural Overview: • Profile tank to determine bottom volume • Insure that mixer is operational • Lower contents to just above mixer • Introduce HCR Tank Cleaner (Vac or pump truck) • Mix for predetermined time • Fill tank and blend contents with crude • Ship • Pump(s) may have to be used to insure the

chemical is mixed if mixers are not adequate to thoroughly circulate mixture

    HYDROCARBON RECOVERY

    Procedure Detail: Pre-Treatment Steps:

    1. Profile tank to determine percentage of Sludge

    2. Perform load test to

    confirm proper mixer operation

    Phase 1 Treatment:

    1. Lower Tank Inventory to predetermined level

    2. Introduce HCR Cleaner using Pump Truck

    Phase 1 Treatment:

    4. Continue mixing until Sludge and HCR Cleaner are homogenized

    HYDROCARBON RECOVERY

    Phase 2 Reconstitution:

    5. Top off tank to capacity with live crude

    6. Continue to mix contents for 7- 10 days

    7. Hydrocarbons are

fully incorporated into the live crude inventory and ready for market

    HYDROCARBON RECOVERY

    Procedure: Pipelines

    • Small amount of HCR Cleaner is pumped in front of the pig at the launcher.

    • Cleaner volume is calculated by pipeline diameter and paraffin density.

    • Regularly scheduled treatment is recommended to proactively reduce blockage and unnecessary maintenance costs.

    Benefits:

    • Reduces pressure and increases flow • Out of service is avoided. • Keeps valves and provers clean. • Proactive treating keeps pipelines clean and

reduces corrosion from moisture and paraffin build up in the bottom of lines.

    Proven Results:

    • HCR Cleaner was used to successfully treat the BP Mardi Gras Pipeline.

    HYDROCARBON RECOVERY

Procedure: Ocean Tankers • HCR Cleaner should be premixed in shore battery. • By adding small amount of cleaner prior to transport, paraffin stays in suspension.

    Benefits:

    • Greatly reduces diminished capacity by being able to pump off most of the cargo. • Reduces demurrage charges and refinery fees for processing slop from cleaning and steaming

compartments. Recover and sell up to 90% of Hydrocarbons in tanker sludge.

    Proven Results:

    • HCR Cleaner was used to successfully treat a Shell Oil Company barge.
