Ces services écosystémiques devraient être pris en compte par les conseils municipaux lors de la planification du remplacement des grands arbres centenaires. Ces arbres absorbent des quantités beaucoup plus élevées de dioxyde de carbone que les arbres d'ornement plus petits, avec lesquels, pour des raisons purement financières, ils sont généralement remplacés. (En anglais) Dans le cadre d'un programme visant à protéger les droits fonciers des femmes seules en Inde, le ministre en chef de l'Orissa a récemment distribué des droits de propriété à la terre à 57 femmes dans le district de Ganjam. The initiative will establish effective knowledge platforms between IGAD member States, as well as strengthen the capacity of institutions to scale up proven cost effective resilience enhancing good practices. WFP and FAO Call for Structural Measures to Prevent Drought from Undermining the Food Security in the Dry Corridor in Central America FAO News Latin American and the Caribbean 11/08/15 The recurrent droughts have converted into a cyclical characteristic of the changing climate in the region. For this reason, the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) and the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) are calling for an investment in structural measures to increase the
resilience and reinforce the capacities of the countries affected. This involves the management of risks with regards to strengthening the infrastructure, the improvement of early warning systems, the use of natural resources and the adaption of the productive systems to the climate’s variability.

In addition, it helps governement to reinforce coordination across sectors .towards sustainable management at landscape level. This brochure also shows the adding-value of the FFF in the implementation of activities to support forest and farm producer organizations. Selected FAO Forestry and other publications 2015 Electronic files of all major publications produced by FAO Forestry and the FO decentralized forestry units plus selected key publications from the same period produced by the FAO technical departments. The publication catalogue/CD-ROM/USB will be used to support knowledge sharing in forestry fields, commencing with the XIV World Forestry Congress in Durban, South Africa, in September 2015.
