Global economy continues to weather the
most difficult times these days. What
began as financial crisis in the United
States quickly turned into the largest
global recession that caused massive
declines in consumer demand, rising
unemployment and protectionist
measures worldwide.
Although the developing countries at first seemed to be spared from the fall out of
this crisis, many countries have subsequently faced slumping demand for their
export products and significant reductions in foreign investment and remittances.
All over the world governments have taken an active stance in addressing the
crisis and the policy makers are still engaged to address one of the severest
economic challenges of our times.
