Christmas

Parties

On the last day of

term every class at Kingswood

school had a fantas$c fun

Christmas party. The children in

year 4 played a game that

involved dressing up and trying

to cut some chocolate with a

knife and fork whilst wearing

gloves! Key stage 1 all got

together in the hall and had a

joint party which included

dancing, games and ea$ng some

delicious food. It was great way

to get the children and teachers

in the Christmas spirit.

Our crea$ve council have now finished the mosaic. The

design has turned out as planned and Miss Chapman,

together with all the children from the Crea$ve Council,

proudly showed it in assembly. Ben Clark clearly

explained all about the colourful mosaic. He said that it

has “hello” spoken in several different languages and has

a huge sign saying “The world around us”. The mosaic

has been mounted on the wall by the year 3 and 4

entrance, please make sure you have a look at this

amazing and crea$ve mosaic.

The Crea$ve Council are going to be crea$ng more

master pieces in the future with

the help of Miss Chapman.

Recepon Class Assembly

Recep$on had their very own class assembly and it was extremely cute!

The children taught us a lot of facts about Paddington Bear. Paddington

Bear is a story about a bear that adores marmalade sandwiches. We would

also like to tell you about a great forest adventure that Recep$on had.

They talked about the marshmallows that they cooked on a burning fire.

They said that they were DELICIOUS! They even got to climb trees! (Don’t

try that at school!) AMer that they had a bug hunt and they found it really

tricky. It was hard because the bugs were so small and they had to look

very close to find them. They even had to use leaves as bait for the bugs

and it worked! When they came back to school they learnt about the story

of The Gruffalo. It talks about a mouse that encounters many creatures

that want to eat the mouse. He defends himself by saying that he had a

secret friend called a Gruffalo. Recep$on told us the story of The Gruffalo

and even sang The Gruffalo Song. It was such a lovely assembly and all the

children and parents watching really, really enjoyed it. Ar$cle by Jack and Man

To start with there were 66 schools from all over Surrey.

Kingswood won the Banstead and Reigate Borough

tournament. They beat St Celia's 2-0 in the final! They

then progressed to the 2nd round.

Now there were only 12 schools leM and Kingswood

was one of them. Unfortunately they lost both of their

first 2 games 2-1 but then won the 3rd, 2-1. Then the

team drew 1-1 but amazingly won 3-2 on penal$es,

thanks to a great save by Jacob. Overall Kingswood

came 9th out of 66 schools and were one of he smallest

schools compe$ng.

INTERVIEW WITH ELLIOT

Were you proud of yourself and the team?

Yes but we couldn't have done it without the rest of the

team working well together. The team played brilliantly

and communicated well.

Year 4 took a trip to Colley Hill on 30th January 2015. In literacy the class has been

asked some year 4 children about the trip. Did you enjoy the trip?

Yes, the trip had been planned for a while and we were all looking forward to it but it

was even more exci$ng because it had snowed. Our new literacy topic is “Stories set in

clipboards to make notes on our trip by using our senses, what we could hear, see, feel

and smell to help us with our own story wri$ng. When we got back we watched Narnia

and had some hot chocolate to warm up.

It sounds like year 4 had a brilliant $me at Colley Hill. Ar$cle by Ben May
