National Institute of Technology Manipur, an Institute of national importance imparting quality technical

4. Higher starting pay and/or AGP may be offered to deserving candidates on recommendation of the selectioncommittee at the discretion of the Board of Governors.

5. Reservation will be as per Government of India rules.6. Ph.D is compulsory for Science and Humanities subjects.7. Exceptionally talented candidates with M.Tech Degree will be considered only on appointment as Asst.

Professor on contract for 3 years or till award of Ph.D degree, extendable by 2 more years on recommendation

of a second selection committee.

8. The performance and progress of Asst. Professors on contract towards acquiring Ph.D degree will bemonitored continuously and the appointment shall be terminated if progress is not found satisfactory at any

stage.

9. The contract position will be regularized w.e.f date of joining on acquiring Ph.D degree.Academic Reimbursements and Incentives

In addition to the normal pay and allowances as applicable to the central government employees stationed at Imphal,

following additional incentives are also available to the faculty members:

1. Full funding for attending national conference either for presenting a paper or chairing session as per Instituteguidelines.

2. Financial assistance up to Rs.300000/- in 3yrs under Professional Development Fund.3. Reimbursement of telephone charges up to Rs. 500 per month.4. Reimbursement of relocation charges from within India to join the Institute.5. Honorarium of Rs. 15000/- per month to the teachers who have obtained Bhatnagar Award or are having

fellowship of two national academies. A faculty member is entitled for only one honorarium.

Accommodation:

Suitable residential accommodation subject to availability will be provided in the Campus of the Institute. HRA may be

paid in lieu of residential accommodation.

General Information:

1. Minimum requirement of experience/academic qualification may be relaxed for outstanding candidates.2. Mere fulfilment of minimum qualification and experience requirements does not entitle any candidate for a

call for interview. A short listing criterion may be set higher and narrower than the minimum advertised.

3. Depending on perceived availability of qualified candidates, different departments may set different shortlisting criteria.

4. Apart from merit, the specialization of a candidate within a department will play a vital role in selection,candidate with specialization in greater need by the department being given preference.

5. Experience and/or meritorious candidates may be granted higher than starting pay on recommendation ofselection committee.

6. For the same achievement in terms of research record, younger candidates will be given preference.7. The Institute reserves the right to fill or not to fill any or all the posts advertised.8. Reservation for SC/ST/OBC/ Physically Challenged persons will be as per GOI norms.9. Enclosures such as Publication, Research Plan etc as stated in the Application form should be sent along with

13. Candidates in advanced stage of Ph.D in any Institute are encouraged to apply if selected, the candidate maybe given time upto one year to complete Ph.D and join NITM or complete the programme after joining NITM,

to be decided by the Director.

14. Candidates pursuing Ph.D need to enclose a reference letter from thesis supervisor/guide indicating status ofhis/her project.15. Any other details may be submitted in a separate sheet.16. No correspondence whatsoever will be entertained from the candidate regarding postal delays, conduct and
