About My Special WeddingMy Special Wedding offers a wide variety of Rogue Valley wedding venues, many available exclusively through this program. Choose a riverside garden, an elegant ballroom, a mountain ranch, a manicured golf course, or one of many more possibilities to create the perfect setting for your big day.

Prices are affordable, with many venues available for $1,500 or less. And thanks to the generosity of the venue hosts, nearly all of the venue cost becomes a donation to the Women’s Crisis Support Team to end domestic violence and sexual assault in Josephine County.

How Does My Special Wedding Work?

My Special Wedding can help you discover a venue for the wedding of your dreams. Contact Cindy at 541-476-3877 or cindy@myspecialwedding.org with the date of your wedding (if you’ve set it), how many guests you plan to have, if your wedding has a theme, and which venues you are interested in seeing. She will discuss your plans and will help arrange visits to the venues.

Once you find the perfect venue, secure it with an initial payment of 20 percent (minimum $250) and sign a rental agreement. Many venues also require a refundable cleaning and damage deposit, and that you purchase one-day “event insurance.”

The wedding plan is yours: you choose the caterer, rental service, and other personal details. My Special Wedding provides the memorable setting. Available amenities such as chairs, tables, and catering vary with the venue. My Special Wedding can also provide a list of recommended vendors.

Some questions to think about when looking at a wedding venue: • Where would you want the ceremony, dinner, dining, musicians and

dancing? • Where are the best backdrops for wedding photographs? • If you have disabled guests, will the property be accessible to them? • How much parking is available and where is it? • Is it the right size for your wedding?

Keep in mind that if you’re looking at the properties in fall or winter, they will look different in the summer when trees are leafed out and flowers are in bloom.

Be prepared with lots of extra flowers in your colors. In the spring, plant annuals in flower pots that you can move around to create spots of color anywhere — next to the cake table, in the aisles, at entrances, and so on.

Don’t be afraid to ask friends and family to help:

• Making centerpieces and decorations

• Cooking, baking, and laying out the table

• Setting up the day of the wedding

• Picking up guests at the airport • Serving wine and beer • Parking cars

Parents of the bride and groom must stop working once the first guest arrives and just relax. It’s their big day too!

About Women’s Crisis Support TeamDedicated to ending domestic violence and sexual assault through intervention, prevention, and safe shelter.

Women’s Crisis Support Team (WCST) is the primary domestic violence and sexual assault response and advocacy organization in Josephine County, dedicated to ending domestic violence and sexual assault through interven-tion, prevention, and safe shelter. With a small staff and numerous dedicated volunteers, the 501(c)3 organization operates the only 24-hour crisis line, the only domestic violence/sexual assault family-safe shelter, and is the sole provider of ongoing, school-based violence prevention education in Josephine County.

When you reserve one of these wedding venues, you make a difference for those seeking violence-free lives in Jose-phine County by supporting WCST.

WCST’s services are designed to help survivors of abuse regain control of their lives, start the healing process, develop positive self-esteem, and break the cycle of violence so that future abuse can be prevented. All of its services are free and confidential.

WCST believes in:

• Declaring freedom from fear of abuse, which is a basic human right.

• Empowering survivors of violence to make their own choices and exercise their right to self-deter-mination.

• Respecting women, men, and children equally. • Breaking the cycle of violence through education. • Offering a program that balances prevention, inter-

ceptable. • Conducting our own affairs in an ethical and caring
