Our Philosophy
In 1928, Nihon Nohyaku Co., Ltd. was established as Japan’s first company to specialize in agrochemicals. As a company that is dedicated to protecting food supply and greenery, Nihon Nohyaku puts research, development, and widespread promotion of agrochemicals at the heart of its business activities. In fulfilling this integral role in society, we have continued to pursue technological innovation.
The world’s population is projected to increase rapidly and is estimated to surpass nine billion in 2050. There are concerns that this population growth and a change in the structure of demand will cause the global supply and demand of crops to tighten. With the pressing need to lift the yield per unit area of agricultural produce that is of uniform quality, and to increase agricultural productivity in a bid to ensure long-term, stable supply, agrochemicals are expected to play an increasingly important role in identifying a solution.
Our mission as a company is to help boost agricultural production in order to secure this long-term, stable supply. To this end, we continue to develop and provide agrochemicals that offer excellent efficacy, cost-performance, and safety in Japan and overseas. Moving forward, we will also aggressively promote growth strategies and redouble our efforts to develop our business worldwide. Through these means, we will strengthen our agrochemical discovery platform as well as the competitiveness of our businesses while contributing to the future of Japan’s and the world’s food and agriculture.

Business Activities
With an unwavering commitment to safety and quality, Nihon Nohyaku is mainly engaged in the research and development, manufacture and sale of agrochemicals. At the same time, we have expanded our activities into such wide-ranging fields as chemical products as well as pharmaceuticals and animal health products.
Other
Agrochemicals
Pharmaceuticals and Animal Health Products
In our chemical products business,we handle a wide range of products
including those for use in home gardening, greenery, and termite control.
Building on its accumulated research and development activities as Japan’s first manufacturer of agrochemicals, as well as its well-earned position of trust, Nihon Nohyaku has
extended its operations beyond the shores of Japan to actively enter overseas markets. Taking into consideration the needs of local environments, we are working to spread the techniques of
agrochemical use that are deeply rooted in each community.
In the pharmaceuticals and animal health products fields, we branched off
from our toxicological research on FUJI-ONE to develop and put on the
market KANTEC, a product designed to improve liver protein metabolism, in
1985. Currently, we are engaged in the sale of pharmaceuticals and animal
health products in Japan and overseas.
Nihon Nohyaku is also active ina variety of fields including landscape work,
real estate rental, and agrochemicalresidue analysis.

Research and Development Activities to Compete in Global Markets
Our mission is to meet current needs in global crop protection markets by introducing innovative agrochemicals that can contribute to healthy food production while protecting the environment. To this end, we continue to invest around 10% of our total sales in research and development activities, which are recognized as the driving force behind our mission.
A Platform for Discovering Innovative AgrochemicalsNihon Nohyaku used to have separate facilities that independently conducted research work in each of the chemistry, biology, toxicology, and pharmaceutical fields. In order to strengthen our research and development structure, we integrated these separate facilities into a single Research Center in 1995. Working closely beyond the boundaries of their individual disciplines, researchers continue to commit themselves to introduce new technologies that contribute to future generations.
High Reputation in the IndustryAs a company that plays a prominent role in the development of agricultural innovations, Nihon Nohyaku’s track record in research and development is highly regarded in all quarters.
