    Inadequacy of SafeRide

On campus students can use Safe Ride

Offers rides to any point on campus or StateFarm until 2:00 a.m. Has been deemed by many

students as unsafe and unreliable. The service area is strictly limited to University

properties only(parking lots, residence halls andacademic buildings.)

This service leaves out off campus students whoalso pay in their fees for this but are unable touse it.

    Inadequacy of AppalCART

Without the night-time schedule,AppalCART does not meet the needs ofthe student body which stays on campus

after hours of operation. No form of transportation is available for

the student body to transport themselves

off campus without the use of a personalvehicle.

    Proposed Solution for AppalCART

Three proposed routes on the map: gold, blue, andpurple routes would be adjusted to fit a wider studentbody. (Integrate Pop 105 & Red Route Hot Spots)

Encompass the majority of needs of the student body

providing routes to three different directions of Boone The routes run until 3:00 a.m.

30 minutes after many locations on King Street areclosed

The time many students begin finishing up on campusallowing students to leave at a reasonably late time

    without compromising their transportation.

    Student Body Response

I believe a bus system that ran lateThursday- Saturday nights would be verybeneficial to campus life. It wouldn't

necessarily need to be a 24/7 system butfor students without cars who have latenight activities or obligations, not having

any means of transportation that runs offcampus is very frustrating.

    Student Body Response

I think that another mode of late-nighttransportation is completely necessary now that thelibrary has become operational 24/5. Living in theAPH without a car, it is definitely an inconveniencefor me not having late-night transportation options.Last night I needed to stay longer than 2, but since Idon't have a car and my friends were no longer inthe library, I had to leave at 1:45 because SafeRide

wouldn't run until I needed to leave
