prints are inspired by France, by the opulence of

Walls of Roses a la Dior Paris 2012, the joy and opulence of weddings (including our own in

January 2015) where our friend, owner of Passion Growers, delivered 3500

opulent roses that took over our house with astounding

lush fragrance.

Inspiration includes how modern and rococo mix, such as the modern art

installations in guilt ballrooms such as The Hall of Mirrors at Versailles. The juxtaposition of modern and

classic, exuberance and constraint. The colors and

color names are inspired by Laduree macarons, in

modern French colors in acidy tones that are

powdery and refined for a worldwide market. 5

With impeccable attention to intricate details, Palace Damask and Dapper are inspired by the handmade Venetian velvets created with hand applied wooden printing blocks by ancient textile techniques in small workshops made famous by houses like Fortuny and Luigi Bevilacqua. Our inspiration comes from ancient Italian works of art and the rich cultural heritage of Renaissance Venice, the historical Venetian velvet arts, sumptuous patterned velvets, brocades and damasks that adorn the walls of the city's grandest palaces and richest churches, covered tables, and upholstered furniture. Our Palace Collection starts with true historical reference, pays homage and tribute to its origins, and to collectors who know the original work, and then embarks on artistic license, contemporary interpretation and re-imagineering.

StillLife Vintage is inspired by the themes of beauty and death in stillife painting of the 1600’s, where cut blooms are depicted at their peak and the painting preserved their perfection, yet the perfection signaled the flowers’ imminent fading. Capturing that richness and perfection and keeping it preserved for all time, is the joy of Stillife Vintage. Our print has a unique aged quality with a nuanced vintage technique that highlights the flowers in glistening light and a velvety atmosphere. Stillife replicates as closely as possible the feeling of the 16th and 17th-century art, but is also very modern and edgy, referencing the modern photographers like Bas Meeuws, that replicate stillife art in photographs, using new twists to the traditional Dutch still life with flowers, much like we do with our advanced digital technology in textile and wallpaper printing. 29
