cooperation by the International Cooperative Alliance, itself, indicates their

importance for one and all associated with the Cooperative movement. We,

at NICM, are, therefore, committed to extend our best training facilities and

other relevant services to all the sectors of cooperatives not only at the state

level but at the national level too. Equipped with the large green campus,

separate modern buildings for different purposes, all requisite latest

educational infrastructural facilities and above the all highly qualified and rich

experienced faculty members, we are one of the leading cooperative training

institutes of the country. NICM is accreditated by C-PEC, BIRD, Lucknow.

In the prevailing environment of high inflation, global economic slow-down

and stiff competition, it becomes a great challenge to survive for all business

organization, unless they adopt professional approach. The executives and

employees associated with the cooperative organizations, Government

Departments, NGOs and the organizations engaged in Agriculture & Rural

Development participate in our various training programmes to sharpen their

skills on an on going basis, in order to handle effectively the various

challenges before them and meet with the increasing customer expectations

and aspirations.

We are, therefore, relentlessly endeavoring to impart – best education,

training and right skills, not only amongst the employees but also amongst

the Board Members of the cooperative institutions, so as to enable them to

discharge their duties to the best of the expectations and satisfaction of their

clients as also other stake-holders. Apart from the knowledge and skill,

attitude of the staff also play a vital role in effective functioning and better

performance of any organization. This aspect, which is either neglated or not

given due weightage by some training institutions, is taken of well care by

our faculty members by inducting relevant innovative topics on business

management and behavioural science, in the different training programmes.

The contents of training programmes are so designed as to meet with the

new changes, challenges, rules & regulations, Laws, policies and such other

vital factors. It is therefore, quite obvious why and how our training

programmes are becoming more and more popularised over the period of

time.

I appeal and expect all the cooperative organizations and other organizations

associated with rural development to take the best advantage of our

marvelous training facilities.

Managing Trustee's Message

Qualified, skilled, experienced, honest and motivated employees are

an asset to any commercial organization. It is the value based

education which goes a long way in creating such staff – pull. We, at

NICM, are committed to impart “Education with Ethics” to the staff

members of various Cooperative Organizations. We are proud of

being a catalyst in the process of “Reform, Perform and Transform”.

Needbased Training programmes are designed at this institution after

taking into consideration the past experience and future needs.

Various tools of training – right from individual coaching to Case

Exercise, Case Study, Role- Play, Business Games, Group Discussions

and Field Visits etc. are so chosen as to suit the relative subject/group

of participants. This facilitates ever lasting impact of the contents of

the training, in the minds of the participants. Along with academic

aspects, ethical and emotional intelligence aspects are also well taken

care of, so as to enthuse the participants to serve their organization,

its clients and other stake holders with sincerity and sensitivity.

In addition to our usual functions of training, we also effectively offer

various types of consultative services in respect of different areas of

administration such as formation of various business policies,

guidance for HRD, legal issues and recruitment process etc. These

services are also well availed of and appreciated by the cooperative

organizations.

The Management of our Institution is quite pro-active and is always

supportive and encouraging for launching newer and innovative

training programmes and consultative services to suit the

requirements of the various cooperative sectors. “On-Location“ and

“Out-of-Station“ training programmes are also arranged on merits.

The training programmes contained in this calendar for the year

2016-17 are the essence of our experience of past several years. I am

sure, all our co-operative organizations and other organizations

availing our training facilities / consultancy services will find them to

be most useful and will endeavour to take the best advantage thereof.

The Cooperative Sector and more particularly the Three Tier Short

Term Cooperative Credit Structure is passing through a span of

transformation. There are several shortcomings, problems and

challenges which compel them to have introspection for removing

their weaknesses and find out the ways to get strengthened. This could

be done only with the firm grip on the various aspects of their

functioning. It is a matter of great pleasure and pride for us that we, at

NICM, are proving to be an effective instrument for enabling them to

convert their threats into opportunities.

Large numbers of training programmes were conducted during the

past year for the various levels of functionaries in the three tire short

term cooperative credit structure – especially the PACS and DCCBs.

Training programmes for the UCBs, Gujarat State Agriculture & Rural

Development Bank as also for women beneficiaries of Gujarat

Livelihood Promotion Company are also receiving overwhelming

response which reflects the effectiveness and utility of such training

programmes. The major focus of the State Government and Central

Government being on reduction of poverty, our institute is taking keen

interest and initiatives for skill development as also leadership

development training programmes for various beneficiaries under self

help groups and Sakhi Mandals etc. Apart from the class room

lectures, the participants, wherever necessary, are also taken on field

visit to the most successful units of the relavant activities with an

intention to get them inspired for taking up newer viable business

activities in their areas.

Unlike private sector, cooperative sector is working with the principal

object of benefits of their members and society as a whole, with

‘Concern for Community’. The cooperatives fulfill their social

obligations in much better way. We, therefore, will continue to extend

our lion’s share, as hitherto, in strengthening the cooperative sector by

offering best of the training facilities. The various training programmes

for the year 2016-17 as announced in this Calendar will certainly be

found much useful to all the concerned Cooperative Institutions.
