Project Overview Green Remediation Ltd were employed to carry

out the demolition of the existing former

Santander building, followed by an earthworks

and stabilization package. To be constructed on

this site was a 38,000 m2 warehouse and 41,000 m2

of access roads, yards and car parking.

Service & Utility Detection / Disconnection This 80,000 m2 former Power Station site, was occupied by many

live services, before works could commence, these had to be

located, traced and recorded. These were then either

disconnected and proved dead, or diverted outside of the works.

All excavation near or around were carried out following the

strict guidance as determined by HSG47: Avoiding danger from

underground services.

Demolition The building was constructed in the early 1990s to provide a new computer processing centre for

Girobank, subsequently Alliance and Leicester and Santander. The existing building was steel framed

comprising:

Single storey open plan office

2 storey plant rooms to both the north and south

Link building with another plant room in the roof space

All waste was segregated, and disposed of offsite using a licensed waste carrier. Over 95% of waste was

recycled.
