That is, if you go straight through, without any hiccups or detours (MD, PhD, failed
exams, Maternity, etc)

That's less than the UK average. Check Aldi or Lidl.
Starting salary -
– approx £70,000
Average debt of a new Junior doctor now is
– basic pay + up to 50% of basic pay as banding
Salary = Basic pay + Unsocial Hours Pay (banding)
Jeremy style = weekdays after 10 PM, Saturday after 10 PM, & Sunday
"Normal hours till 10 PM Everyday & Saturday too!"

Unsocial hours as it is now = weekdays after 7 PM, & weekends

THE ROYAL COLLEGESPretty much all the colleges, who oversee our training have advised Jeremy Hunt that this is not safe for patients, & not fair on junior doctors. It is very unfair especially for women.
