Te Rerenga School visit

Thank you to all the families who have said they can supply camp mattresses for the school visit. They can be dropped at school on Tuesday morning (24 September). We could do with a few more if anyone still has some. We are still looking for more St Leo’s students who would be willing to stay behind after school on the 24th to play with the visitors. We will provide a BBQ dinner for them and they can be picked up at 6.30pm. Please let Renee know if you’d like to be involved.

Student Learning Expo If you haven’t already booked in for the expo next Wednesday book now https://www.schoolinterviews.co.nz and enter the event code z293r or click this link to book https://www.schoolinterviews.co.nz/book/select?z=6SEnjA Grandparents day - 25 September You should have received a special invitation from the children for the Grandparents Day. Please let the school know if you have grandparents (or grandparent representatives) who will be attending. The day begins at 11.30 with a liturgy and entertainment. Followed by a shared lunch and tour around the school with a finish time around 1pm. Book Week Book week has been a great success with visits from three popular authors, Devonport library visits, mystery readers, buddy reading and teacher swaps. Tomorrow will be an exciting day when the children get to dress as their favourite book characters.

Skool Loop By now most of you should be able to receive your notices via school loop. No more weekly emails will be sent home each week so if you haven’t downloaded the app yet, you will need to do so. In the notice page, click the three dots and tick any groups your children are involved in. Some messages will just be sent to the relevant groups.

Catholic Character Survey Thank you to all the parents who have completed the survey. If you would still like to complete it, you will find it in your email inbox. The survey closes on Monday. School Fair We are building up to the school fair. Make sure you check all the information coming home from the PTFA about items to be sent to school. Also remember to offer a little of your time to help out and make the day a success. This is our major fundraiser this year and we’d like it to be a great event. Upcoming events

You may have noticed the storage container that has appeared in the school grounds. This has been kindly lent to us by the lovely people at Mobistore so those of us wanting to have a clean out of kids toys well before for the school fair in November can send their good quality, and working preloved treasures in. Items that were particularly popular last year were

Scooters

Rollerblades, skateboards and roller skates

Toy cars, trucks and planes

Dolls (with all their limbs!) with clothes and dolls accessories

Characters and not too well loved soft toys

Complete puzzles and games

Bagged up collection of smaller toys like Hot Wheels Cars or mini figures.

Good condition School bags

Pencil cases

Money boxes

Craft stuff

If over the next few months you are having a clean out we are ready and waiting for it to be dropped at school. Please send an email to [email protected] the day before you drop so we can make sure someone is around to pop it in “The Cube”. Remember to pass this to your friends and family from other schools too!
