Une Vie différente

Nathan Dupont n’a pas la vie facile. Il vit à Greno-ble, en France, dans une petite maison, avec sa sœur Lau-rine et sa mère Marie-Claire. Il y a un an, son père, qui travaillait pour une organisation anti-terroriste, est mort

dans une attaque terroriste. Sa soeur Laurine a été paraly-sée dans l'attaque. Elle ne peut plus rester seule et elle a besoin d’aide tout le temps. Nathan a quinze ans et il ne veut pas rester à la maison tout le temps, mais sa sœur a besoin de son aide. Elle ne peut ni marcher, ni parler.

La vie de sa famille a beaucoup changé depuis l’at-taque. Sa mère est scientifique et, maintenant, elle tra-vaille en secret… Elle travaille dans un laboratoire qui est situé dans une cave1. Avant l’attaque, elle travaillait pour une compagnie pharmaceutique et la vie était normale. Maintenant, elle travaille tard tous les soirs et sa vie n’est plus comme avant.

Son nouveau travail est confidentiel…. Elle dit que c’est pour protéger sa famille. Protéger sa famille est très important pour Madame Dupont. Alors, elle est très stricte. Nathan ne peut pas sortir de la maison sans sa permission.

Il est sept heures du soir, Nathan attend sa mère mais elle n’arrive pas. Elle a dit qu’elle allait dîner avec eux ce soir et Nathan attend...et attend… et attend. Sa mère ne rentre pas, alors Nathan se demande si tout va bien.

À neuf heures Nathan décide d’aller la chercher. Il sort de la maison et va au laboratoire. Il cherche la porte

secrète et quand il la trouve, il pense : Pourquoi est-ce que maman dit que le laboratoire est dangereux ? Nathan ouvre la porte avec hésitation. Il appelle : « Maman ? » Il attend...mais elle ne répond pas.

Il entre dans le laboratoire et appelle : « Maman ! » encore une fois. Il regarde partout dans son laboratoire mais il ne voit pas sa mère. Il ne voit rien d’anormal. Il

va vers le bureau et il trouve un dossier. Sur le dossier est écrit : CONFIDENTIEL, mais dans le dossier, il n’y a rien.

Nathan va vers le réfrigérateur et l’ouvre. Il cherche quelque chose à manger. Dans le réfrigérateur, il trouve des pommes, une brique2 de lait et une bouteille de jus de fruit. Il prend le lait et remarque qu’il n’y a pas de lait

dans la brique. Mais il voit quelque chose. Dans la bri-que, il y a des papiers. Que c’est bizarre ! Qu’est-ce que c’est ? se demande Nathan. Il sort les papiers et les re-garde. Il voit des formules scientifiques. C’est évident que ce sont des formules secrètes.

Il laisse la brique dans le réfrigérateur et prend les papiers. Ensuite, il prend les pommes et le jus de fruit, puis il rentre chez lui. Sa sœur dort toujours. Il se couche. Il a peur et pense : où est maman ?

Chapitre 2 Kidnappée

Marie-Claire Dupont se réveille avec un horrible mal de tête. Elle ne sait pas où elle est mais elle sait qu’elle est prisonnière. Dans la pièce, il n’y a pas de fenêtres. Il y a un lit, une petite table avec une lampe et une salle

de bain. Elle entre dans la salle de bain et elle voit des articles de toilettes. Elle se demande : C’est pour moi ?

Tout à coup, elle entend son nom. Elle sort de la salle de bain et elle entend :

« Madame Dupont, dans 20 minutes vous allez entendre un gros clic. Quand vous entendrez ce clic, ouvrez la porte, sortez, tournez à gau-che et marchez vers la porte blanche. Ouvrez la porte, puis entrez dans votre nouveau labo-ratoire.

Elle pense : vingt minutes !? Je n'ai même pas de montre1.

« Il y a des articles de toilette pour vous dans la salle de bain. Préparez-vous. Vos assistants vous attendent. »

Tremblante, elle entre dans la salle de bain et se pré-pare. Qui m’a kidnappée et pourquoi ? pense Madame Dupont. Elle pense aussi à ses enfants. Elle a très peur !

Vingt minutes plus tard, elle entend un gros clic. Elle ne veut ni ouvrir la porte, ni sortir. Mais elle ne veut pas rester dans la pièce non plus. Elle veut s’échapper.
