ARNADA NEIGHBORHOOD ASSOCIATION | August 2016

Arnada is joining fellow neighborhood associations to celebrate National Night Out at Esther Short Park. It’s an annual night to celebrate our community and keeping our streets safe and clean. The Vancouver Police and SWAT will work to be on hand to show the kids their trucks and hand out stickers. There will also be games, face painting, s’mores, ice cream, prizes, local vendors and volunteers organizations. The Arnada Neighborhood Association will help out with the “Too good to toss” table. If you clean out your closet or cupboard and find something you know someone else might want, bring it down and leave it on the table. If you see something you like, take it! All the leftover items are donated to Open House Ministries.

Annual Trail User CountVancouver Parks and Recreation is collecting data to help identify use in and along the trails throughout our commu-nity. Each year we participate in the National Bicycle and Pedestrian Documentation Program. The data that we col-lect helps us develop our future plans and budgets to best serve community interest and needs.

Each trail is surveyed twice: one weekday afternoon and one weekend day mid-day, corresponding with the desig-nated days and times set by the National Documentation Project, depending on the number of volunteers. The week the counts take place will be announced through the media, usually in mid-September. To apply for this position contact the Volunteer Coordinator at 360-487-8344 or go to http://tinyurl.com/2016trailcount
