Reliability ……The addition of coiled tubing increases the operational risk and occurrence of loss time. Common issues include stuck parts, buckling and lock-up.

Current DesignsComposite plugs require mill-out. Dissolvable designs are

long and take time to dissolve. They have a relatively small bore and can restrict flowback.

Frac Plugs Operations Challenges

Lateral LengthCoiled tubing reach is limited. Mill-out stump accumulation

towards bottom stages. Large coiled tubing units may not access all the well sites.

Economics …Cost associated with coiled tubing service can amount to

$1.7M for a 6-well pad. Lost production opportunity due to mill-out > $1.5M.
