NEWTON’S LAWS OF MOTION
NEWTON’S LAWS OF MOTION
Newton’s laws of motion are the three physical laws that together laid the foundation for Classical Mechanics. They describe the relationship between body and the force acting upon it, and its motion in respose to said forces. The three law’s of motion were first compiled by Isaac Newton in his Philosophiae Naturalis Principia Mathematica, first published in 1687.
NEWTON’S FIRST LAW OF MOTION
An object at rest remains at rest and an object in motion remains in motion with the same speed and direction unless acted upon by an Unbalanced external force.
NEWTON’S SECOND LAW OF MOTION
Rate of change of momentum of a body is directly propotional to the unbalanced external force acting on it and the change of momentum is in the direction of force.
According to 2nd law of motion, F= ma
NEWTON’S THIRD LAW OF MOTON
To every action there is an equal and opposite reaction.
