TERM 1 WEEK 1 2016 Kia Ora, Talofa, Malo e lelei, Kia Orana, Talofa Ni, Hola… Welcome back and welcome to our 29 new enrolments! Responsibility is one of our Values here and this year we are putting a major emphasis on improving attendance, ensuring students are at school on time and are prepared to learn, etc. That means all Can Kidz having their uniform every day, bringing lunch to school, having their swimming togs during summer, etc. As parents/caregivers you have a huge part to play here so if we all step up our school will be an even better place to be for everyone. Great to see quality learning already happening across the school in all classes. Thank you to you all for dealing with the building developments (or lack of in some cases). The kids settled immediately with no issues in classes, and this is what matters the most. Reminder that there is no school on Monday due to Waitangi Day observance. Enjoy the long weekend with your family. Kia Ora, Talofa, Malo e lelei, Kia Orana, Talofa Ni, Hola…

Welcome back and welcome to our 29 new enrolments!Responsibility is one of our Values here and this year we are putting a major emphasis on improving attendance, ensuring students are at school on time and are prepared to learn, etc.

Basketball & Netball notices for Term 2 will come out in a few weeks so keep an eye out for them.

Miss Morton, Mr Evans and Miss Pene will be holding Kapa Haka Performance Group trials over the next few weeks.

They intend to have a Junior and Senior group.

ALL Can Kidz here take part in whole school Kapa Haka several times per term. The Performance Groups are an extension of this.

Miss Morton, Mr Evans and Miss Pene have said they will be closely looking at the following three areas during trials:• COMMITTMENT• ATTITUDE• ABILITY

All Can Kidz are eligible to trial.

There will be some lunchtime and after school practices as well as noho once per term.

They intend to hold trials again late in Term 2 to allow for late enrolments and for others that have stepped up.

Attendance: We are monitoring and tracking attendance very closely this year to ensure that all students are at school, safe and sound, and ready to learn.

Students can begin arriving at school from 8:15am. No students are allowed in the school grounds until this time, unless they are enrolled in the Early Bird Hub programme, which begins on Tuesday. The school gates close shortly after 9:00am each day and reopen at approximately 2:45pm.

The school day ends at 3:00pm. We will only release students to parents prior to this if permission has been sought through the Principal. Our teachers will not release students without this process occurring in the interests of School Procedures/Health & Safety.

Hats are a compulsory school uniform item so we expect our students to be wearing them everyday in Term 1&4.

All classes have swimming during Term 1 & 4. Students will need their swimming gear every day.

All students are expected to be in school uniform everyday. Leaving uniform items at other family members houses, uniform is in the wash, etc are not acceptable excuses. We expect our students to take responsibility, so we ask that you play your part also.

School Canteen: At this stage we have no option but to close our School Canteen as we no longer have someone to run it. If you are interested in volunteering for this role please let us know asap.
